Still struggling to see what possible benefit we would get from them.
Our weakness is the forward line with Cloke going we are depending on Moore and White so recruiting KPF's seems a smarter move

If Frost and Brown go we will need a KPD

Just shows the grass is greener the other side of the hill. People complaining all the time about White and Blair, are the same people wanting Dal Santo and Boomer.

Stopgap measures, but as Thompson said, Boomer for Blair, why not. Dal Santo? Nah, prefer we have enough young mids running around that need gametime. Prefer Wills or Phillips.

When they are signed, sealed and delivered I will believe it. There are a lot of people that post this shit and it's usually called SPAM. Somehow because the season is over it's gospel.

It's pretty clear that our period of "constant regeneration" is over.

Allan has come in and said enough is enough, target whoever we can get through free agency and trades, regardless of age.

You can pick up as many FA's as you want, as long as you have cap room, and we have plenty of that.

I'll sit back and let Gubby do his work, can't be worse than what's happened in the last 5 off seasons.

prior to gubby allan coming in, those at the club have said as much. we have the core of our list. we're adding the polish.

Simply put it's time to stop pussy footing around and bring us back to a point where winning games of football is all that matters.

At times over the past few years we've been more concerned with development of our kids at times rather than picking the absolute best 22 senior players to win games.

Looks like 2017 will bring us back to that, where the aim every week will be to win, not just develop.

we aim to win every game. i don't believe many players have been gifted games and, if that is perceived to be the case, the only reason is because of the litany of injuries we've had. i don't believe we've "played the kids" for the sake of it.

Well, no-one else said it, so I will.

A certain recent hat-trick of premierships side has been making an art form out of recycling players in recent years. Why the hell can't we? If Wells and Dal Santo were to help deliver us a flag or two, who on here would say no?

Blair actually gives us much more tackling power in our forward line than Boomer would. If we go for any of these guys it will set us back big time. We need to back in players like Ramsay, Schazza, Wills, Aish, Phillips and Crocker.

The difference is the guys mentioned are has beens, with one year left in them at best. The Hawks bought in players like Burgoyne, McEvoy, Frawley and Lake, who all played with the Hawks for several years. These Roos guys are a bunch of crocks.

So Rudeboy when was the last time did you see Blair chase down a player and tackle him?
When was the last time did you see Blair stick a tackle when the opposition had the ball and were running full on past him?
It is true Blair can stick a good tackle in a pack.
But 1 out of 3 don't make him a good tackler.
As I said, Boomer has 34 goals this year and Blair has 15 and Boomer spent a lot more time in the midfield.
I do agree with your point on setting back the development of certain kids.

We actually need more fast tackling machines in the forward 50 to help us lock the ball in there and create goals from turnovers. A player like Boomer is all one way. Good goal sneak but applies the forward pressure of a witches hat.

Without debating the worth of Blair, he's Usain Bolt compared to Del Santo.

We have a lot of youth already and I could see Boomer/DalSanto and Blair playing forward, with Boomer taking the role (not the quality, but the role) that Swan was tagged for at the start of 2016. For a year, as a bridge to the development of our young side, I can see positives.
