I can't split Mick or Ricky, play them on either wing. I'd pay good money to witness that.

Peter by a whisker, Monky still holds a special part in my love of the Pies.

Can we have McKenna coming out of FF and Rocca CHF?

Ok, Mick, Moore and McKenna if I had to take sides.

I used to be undecided, but now I'm not so sure.

Mcguane over Barham because Ricky was injured far too much. Bad hammies.
Moore over Monkey & Cloke
McKenna over either Rocca comfortably.

Two wingmen that pre date Ricky and Micky formed best centre line I ever saw IMHO

Merrett on one wing and Des Healy on the other with Bill Twomey lining up between them

Ricky Barham (I don't really see Mick as a wingman). Graham Wright was a very very good wingman.

Peter Moore by a street. Len Thompson was a very good ruckman, so was Jolly.

Peter McKenna easily. Not sure which Rocca the original post meant, but I always preferred Sav to Anthony.

In those days we used to clone wingmen:

Walsh, Barham, Millane, Abernethy, Brown, Wright Mcguane.

Browny had to play full forward because there were too many wingmen!

Pretty Spot on observations, But I liked Anthony Rocca more than Sav he had more mongrel and made the side stand up around him.

Ditto for me. Peter McKenna easily the best FF ever.

Yep, this although the gap between Moore and Thompson is likely measured by a feeler gauge rather than a street and you could make a case either way, Wrighty and Rowdy both ahead of Barham.

I missed out on seeing Ricky Barham, Peter Moore and David Cloke? So I cannot comment on any of the comparisons. But I can speak about the 5 father-son players they gave us.

I also missed out on seeing McKenna play, but I did get a pic with him the night we won the flag in 2010.

Micky McGuane was more a ruck rover than wingman I would have thought. Ricky Barham was good but Graeme Wright and Gavin Brown produced more for the team.
David Cloke played a lot of ruck because there wasn't a true ruckman in the side. Though serviceable in the role he made his name as a chf and played his best footy there. Moore invented the mobile ruck ruck rover role and did a great job. He could not palm the ball at ball ups nearly as well as Monkey but was much more mobile. Len Thompson had both the mobility and ruck craft so he shades the other two.
I wouldn't be comparing McKenna and Tony Rocca. McKenna was peerless as a leading forward and sharp shooter. Antoinio was more the bullocking chf to build the team around. Sav can be compared more to McKenna as they both played ff. Sav didn't have many finals to showcase his talents and never seemed to kick the clutch goals in big games as he should have. Silvagni owned him for many years also. so Peter McKenna the best ff.
