Post subject: Nicks Bulletin Board 1st Annual AwardsReply with quote

Like all good organisations Nicks will now be awarding prizes to th best posters/posts annually.
These awards in time will become more prestigious than the Brownlow or Pulitzer and I can see the day clearly they will be shown live on TV as there won't be a venue large enough to hold the crowd.

A astute team of dedicated judges have scowled the pages of nicks in search of only the best posts.

Ladies, gentleman and other disgruntled guests I present to you this years award nominees

1 - The crystal balls award (for the poster who new before what was going to happen)
The nominees are

Krakouer Magic
I knew before Buckley was appointed he was going to be a dud
Piedys
Jarryd Blair had champion written all over him before he played a game
DTM
Brodie Grundy and Darcy Moore will both play 500+ games

2 - Ive got this loving feeling (when your love spills over to your posts)
The nominees are

Rudeboy
Rupe Wills is going to be a gun
Pies4shaw
Steele Sidebottom is more elite than Swanny Pendles & Ablett combined
Half the posters from the Anzac Day game thread
Mason Cox is a legend
Piedys
If I turn gay Jarryd Blair will be my husband

3 - One flew over the cuckoo nests (most outlandish statement made)
The nominees are

Krakouer Magic
Buckleys zone press and training methods are responsible for Swans broken leg and ankle
35Forever
Buckley is the only reason ISIS exists
John Wren
I'm the right man to coach nicks posting XXII
Neil
Sack the coach (when he was left out of a side selected by yours truly)

4 - It's wasn't me (the ultimate denial)
The nominees are

John Wren
The poll regarding my coaching tenure was closed early due to concerns it may be hacked like the census site
Piedys
I never had sexual relations with that player named Blair
Pies4shaw
Sidey only turns the ball over because he gets bored hitting targets
Magpiebat
I have no recollection how that batterrang ended up wedged in the Richmond supporters buttocks

5 - My best Donald Trump impersonation
The nominees are

John Wren
If I'm elected coach again I'll make sure we never lose another game
Cam
If we don't lose any games I predict we will make finals
Lazza
My fellow nicksters ask not what nicks can do for you but what you can do for nicks (small sniper of his speech when running for coach)

6 - Always look on th bright side of life
The nominees are

Thinks positive after round 1
Well that didn't go to plan I guess
Jezza after first lose to the Dee's
Well not the result I was expecting
Stui magpie after lose to the blues
Just wasn't our day today
Krakouer Magic after every lose and every win
It's Buckleys fault nothing more or less sack him now

Votes will be tallied and the winner announced in due course

Two comments. First, I don't know why you've only nominated those very lukewarm quotes in favour of Sidey. I'm sure you would be able to find others from me where I've been a little stronger in speaking of his importance to the team. Secondly, why is there no "Least impressed by Treloar's efforts" award?

P4S firstly I could have loaded 438 pages with your I love Sidey quotes but to be fair to the other posters I limited it to one mediocre comment
Secondly th least impressed by treloars efforts didn't warrant a category as there where no nomination to be found. I put this down to everyone being overwhelmed with his greatness and there love of him

6 - Always look on th bright side of life
The nominees should have included Jackcass who is the "positivest" magpie person I have ever met!!!

1 - The crystal balls award (for the poster who new before what was going to happen)
The nominees should have included ME! I was the first to inform (NOT guess/speculate/gossip/heresay etc) that Swannie will retire this year!

And lastly....

5 - My best Donald Trump impersonation
The nominees should have included Piesnchess who is simply brilliant with his rants!!!! Twisted Evil Razz Cool

My crystal ball award goes to 35Forever who said, recruiting Callum Brown and Josh Daicos this year will turn us into the powerhouse of the competition next year, only we won't be because we have the worst coach who ever existed.

That's what you might think, but the truth is, I recall it quite well.

Thing is, the recollection changes with each re-telling. In one version, the fleeing Tiger fan slips on the Batarang and lands on it backside first (Adam West). In another, the Batarang wedges there courtesy of a perfect throw (Kevin Conroy). And in a third scenario, the poor sucker gets branded with it on the arse cheek during an interrogation (Ben Affleck).

Sometimes I remember it one way, sometimes another. If I'm going to have a recent past, I prefer it to be multiple choice! Wink Laughing
