Langdon told Herald Sun on Thursday that coach
Nathan Buckley was building a special culture at
Collingwood and the players want to buy into it
He said the young players are determined to stay
around to ultimately win Pies a premiership and
more signings expected next week
Three years is good
Goes on to say he is determined to reward the only
club that rated him as an AFL player
Stories circulate that players offside with NB then
a young player says words like this _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

Did you find an old paper Barry? This is very old news.
Tom Langdon has re-signed with Collingwood and is keen to reward them for believing in him
JON RALPH, Herald Sun

EMERGING Collingwood talent Tom Langdon has signed a three-year contract extension, determined to reward the only club that rated him as an AFL player.
Langdon told the Herald Sun on Thursday coach Nathan Buckley was building a special culture at Collingwood the players wanted to buy into.
The Pies can set up their season with victory over Geelong on Friday night, with victory meaning they need to win only seven of 16 remaining games to play finals.
He says the young players are determined to stay around to ultimately win a Pies premiership, with more signings expected next week.
Collingwood this week signed up young star Jamie Elliott, with Langdon firm in his belief Buckley was moulding his Pies into a cohesive unit.
“Three years is really good, so I am here until the end of 2018. I am a bit of a traditionalist in that I would like to stay at this club for the whole of my career,’’ he said. _________________ "Still waiting for your call Caroline ... not a quote in sight. You may be right and if so i erred
But it honestly thought it was current
Regardless a good signing _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

Agree, I can remember last year Tom stated he was happy to sign the first contract that was put in front of him. He is a young bloke just happy to be playing footy rather than how much money can he get. _________________ "Still waiting for your call Caroline ... not a quote in sight. I can't believe the Future Captain didn't call me before this news was made public.

Oh - it isn't a further three years? This is just the contract to the end of 2019? |

It's good for Tom but I can't honestly see a place for him in the team. Both Ramsay and Sinclair are ahead of him on the back flanks and I prefer Oxley on the wing to Langdon. If not Oxley I like Sidebottom and Aish on the wings. So I would like to know where people see Langdon playing in the side because to me Maynard and Marsh are both lock ins in the back line and Langdon is too small to play on the power forwards of the competition. On the other hand we could trade Langdon for a valuable third round draft pick which might just be enough to secure Brown and Daicos under the father son rules. |

Injury permitting, he's going to play 200+ games for Collingwood at halfback. I think some of you have trouble remembering how brilliant he was before he got injured last year. He is close to the best reader of the game on our list and has an ability to control space shared by only the greatest defenders. |

The typical response of the Collingwood supporter who talks up the list and then blames the coach when it doesn't turn out. You need to balance out your comments with the negatives which includes being a poor decision maker and poor kick. His decision making over time will correct with more experience, but like Toovey, we're going to be stuck with his poor kicking for life. |

That's a rather churlish thing to say and none of it is apt. I didn't "talk up the list" (and, frankly, you won't find me doing that - the list is defective in a number of areas and I'm not very excited by some players that others routinely rave about). In any event, I happen to think that Langdon is an exceptional footballer and don't share your view about his alleged deficits. Perhaps we should just leave it there - we can revisit the subject, if you like, after he plays his 200th. |
