Why are people so surprised?
This is the same council that put up no saturday parking
for miles around vic park.
Can't even use the crap westpac oval for a final.
We lack vision and long term strategic thinking.
But I won't go there.
Just another thing for us to whinge about.
They done us wrong!!!!
But how did we get to this point? _________________ we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest. |

Ummm. We apparently applied a while back, not enough notice. Should we have applied to host a home final before the start of the season just in case we made it so they'd have enough notice?
All of the objections the council has raised, weren't an issue a couple of years ago when we played a final at Vic Park.
The only failure here is by the council being obstructive cnuts _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

The council have been c...ntz for decades.
Nothing will change with this council.
I have no doubt in years to come that even normal
Vfl games will be banned.
This is my point.
This council is anti collingwood.
Time to leave Vic Park and maybe we should not
have ever went back with our chequebook in our pocket.
Sell the community centre for a high rise apartment block.
I Assume we own it but I could be wrong.
Are we a football club or a charity? _________________ we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest. |

The council have been against us for a hundred years, They obstructed us so much that John Wren got his lackeys elected and his best mate Renfrey was made mayor and the first meeting passed every resolution they had knocked back. Kill for Collingwood does a good analysis of us and of course it is lalluded to in power without glory without the football club. _________________ Annoying opposition supporters since 1967. |

Time to officially move on. The suburb which lived and breathed Collingwood exists on name only. Maybe we should look at another suburban ground as an alternative home, maybe Diamon Creek? Somewhere which has a deep rooted love of the club and we can be completely rid of Yarra Council. If possible, completely pull out of Vic Park once and for all. Sentiment only lasts so long. I'm sure they are itching to release the land to developers anyway. |

I don't think they can mate.
The 1990 legislation that cancelled all the caveats in the original land grant and allowed the council to sell part or all of the land was still cruelled by the fact the oval is heritage listed. Even if they tore down all the rest of the grandstand and the old social club, the oval would have to stay. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

The football ground and football club were there long before any of the current council employees or residents were a twinkle in their old man's eye.
The current situation is a bit like buying a house next door to a pub and then complaining about the noise..... _________________ "I am a great sage, equal of heaven.

Seriously? How much noise can you make when beating off and why would you do it at a pub?
Oh you mean the residents... Carry on. |

Gutted. I was going to fly down for this one. The one shining light of the season just got extinguished. Is there anything left of our once great suburban footy club. I hate the corporate world and what they have turned us into. _________________ Bob Rose....the measuring stick of humanity |

You say you hate what we have become, but how exactly would we have accommodated 70,000 members at Vic Park? Or would you rather us stay at Vic Park with 30,000 members and be putting the hand out every year to the AFL to assist us. |

Last weeks home crowd was 17,644. Not sure where the 70,000 members with no voting rights were accommodated, you tell me. _________________ Bob Rose....the measuring stick of humanity |

You know I have been thinking about this for a while and the move to the Westpac centre with the crap social club that took 15 years to build.
That whole area is a dead zone.
No Parking, the oval has no cover and the social club is a corporate function centre.
The northern suburbs of Melbourne is the natural home of the magpies.
We could have bought the Mernda pub and built a huge complex there with the help of a friendly council and state government.
And yes pure citizens it would have been a big pokie centre and opened 24 hrs a day.
The social club could have been decent and vfl games and training could have taken place there.
We don't own anything down at westpac and we are just tenants!
What are the great benefits of being at that geographic location?
It is too late now but I wonder whether the move from Vic park to Westpac was a second rate decision. _________________ we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest. |

Of course, coz every game we play is in front of 17,000 people! |
