Would love it if we could win a premiership for Swanny in 2016. But you never know. Swanny could go again in 2017 depending how his body feels and we'll see how things go. |

Here is a 257 game 32yr old who has embraced a part of training not to his liking .
That tells me the culture & enthusiasm is vibrant
Swannie we all love you and hope another medal.
hangs around your neck and I say it not for seeing
another flag but more a final accolade to a great

not necessarily dave. form will have a lot to do with it. so too, whether he is holding back a youngster or whether he/bucks thinks he can still contribute in a meaningful manner. _________________ Purveyor of sanctimonious twaddle. |

Without a crystal ball to see his form this year...Swan as a forward would be something other coaches would hate. Hard to match up, could spend some time in middle. If we are contenders in 2017 then he could be precious as a forward. _________________ Magpies forever.

Hope he knows when it's time and doesn't need a push. He is a Collingwood Great and so should choose his own time. Once the media starts asking that question then it is already too late. _________________ After the epic draw comes the decisive knockout!

If we climb the ladder then Swanny has 2 years in him, would be great to see him win another flag. |

That would be fitting.
Hopefully the great man still has a few years left in those heavily inked legs. _________________ Don't count the days, make the days count. |

From another thread:
Quote: | Swanny is 8th on our all time playing list.
3 games behind Bucks. 4 behind McHale. 7 behind Burnsy. 11 behind Len Thompson. 20 behind Wayne Richardson.
Dane is 43 games from playing 300.
Out of reach, for now, is Nuts who is 49 games in front and Tony Shaw who is 56 games in front.
At seasons end, he should be up to 4th and could be up to 3rd on our list. |
Cmon Swanny, I'd love to see him close in on 300!! _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

I've looked for the old thread but couldn't find it but 360 had a snip of a interview with Swanny yesterday
He has his specialist appointment today and said that would determine his future.
He didn't sound overly confident
Slob on said the rumour was his healing had been slower than expected and wasn't responding anywhere near as good as had been hoped for.
He also pointed out Swanny has a book being released later in the year and generally players don't release a book until they retire
Hope my gut is wrong but I have this feeling this battle may be a step to far for someone of Swannys age and maybe his desire to be a AFL player doesn't have the appeal it did several months ago.
He deserves to go out on his terms not like this but some times sport is a cruel master |
