I'd also like to thank them both for their services for the club. I have, despite his sometimes very poor disposal, had a likening for Toovey.

Hurrah!! Go Pies!!

<snip, no need for name calling, especially in a tribute thread, thank you, bbmods> There would BE no Collingwood without guys like these. How do you not get that?

Loved both of these guys, Tooves was a crowd favourite with amazing strength & agility, and Caff is just an all 'round good guy who kicked some of the most exciting goals of the last decade - including that awesome match-winner against North in round 1, 201(3?) I find it so heavily disheartening that there are so many "people" (not my word of choice, but as that word rhymes with 'stunts' and would cause fainting, we'll go with 'people' - and yes, I did mean 'drop punts') here who just have no clue what a football club is, or what it's for. But fear not, I'm starting a thread to discuss that, just be quick, coz it won't be around long.

Thanks tooves, Thanks Caff. You won't be forgotten. That's one bonus of a club that wins a flag about every thirty or so years!

All heart.

Thats what these guys are.

Caff was unlucky as the knees stopped what could have been a great career. Its a shame we couldnt get 100 games from him. But he was a part of the flag in 2010 and he had a great season that year. Will go down the coaching path? I think he has been a fantastic person around the club and he has the smarts.

Toov also unlucky with a knee injury. He wasnt the same player after that. Another who had a great season in 2010 and has that medal. Will he return to WA or remain in Vic? I know he has a good footy brain, but unsure if he has any coaching aspirations.

Best of luck what ever the future holds.

2 fantastic guys who we are all appreciative of.

Both seem like great guys who are loved and respected by their peers. Played an integral role in our success during 2010 and always gave their all. Would still love to see them out running around in the seniors but what's meant to be is meant to be. All the best guys.

All the best lads.
It has been a pleasure watching you run around in the black and white.
2010 will be forever in my mind and i have no doubt in yours.
Enjoy your time with your family and friends and return to relative normality.

Go Pies.

Good luck to both of them.

Tooves at his best was a really good player, excellent one on one with great pace.

I thought Caff would be a star back in 2010. He seemed like the ideal mid sized forward. Great overhead, good pressure and excellent decision making skills. He had a run of form in the back end of 2010 that was electric, but for various reasons he was never able to recapture that.

All I can say is they did the best to make this club great. Which is more than I can say for negative posters on here. Caff and toovs bullants. Detractors . White ants.
Don't forget Nicks sponsored Caff in 2010.

My lasting images of Caff are from the 2010 GF (my God, how the hell was that 6 years ago already?)

The first, his first quarter goal over his shoulder, then chesting and staring down Zac Dawson, freakin' LOVED THAT! Then, his second quarter goal after Jolly found him in the goal square...BANG! Goal from the goal line in front of the St Blunda cheer squad, and the ball got stuck underneath the ad boards on the full. (yes, I've watched the 2010 many many times!)

A VFL flag in their last game would be a great way go out.

Caff's best game was the 2010 GF replay. Was awesome that day. Tooves was one of those players that you couldn't help but love. Got the most out of himself and even kicked 3 goals on debut iirc.

Congrats to you both, Caff and Tooves. Your careers reminded me of mine, but at the much lower local footy level. You were the foot soldiers it takes to make a premiership team. Look forward to a lifetime of being invited back to Collingwood for milestone premiership celebrations. Salute!!
