Thought I'd do a poll to see some solid figures as to what people think. Personally, I hope he stays.

I'd trade anyone at an inflated price.

I voted to keep him as well. We're not really in a position to be giving away all Australian forwards for practically nothing.

He's a shadow of what he was, on inflated coin but still worth something. Trade him to get back into the first round and use the freed up salary cap of a free agent or to lock in some future stars.

I just don't see him as part of our next premiership team.

We keep Cloke for a variety of reasons

Firstly we need a big body forward who can crash a pack and get the ball to ground and hopefully clunk a few along the way Cloke fills that role
We need someone to take the best defender away from Moore while his body and skills develop further
Cloke at his best or actually anywhere in the area is still valuable.

A forward line Cloke Fasalo Sidey Moore Elliott Daicos with White or Howe playing on a wing running forward from opposite wing to where Cloke or Moore might lead would be potent
Also we play the likes of Varcoe Pendles Treloar DeGoey Adams when they rest up forward in a rotation with Sidey or Elliott.
We need to keep our more skillful players closer to goals really

That's a different discussion I reckon Dave. If there was a ridiculously good offer on the table we'd be silly not to look at it.

Keep.

Talk of trading him and paying part of his salary is ludicrous.

If we do not get a good deal, like a 2nd rounder, no deal.

I didn't vote.

Would I like to see him stay? Yes.

Do I think he'll stay, No.

I don't think the club will actively seek to trade him unless that's what he wants. There a definite changes to his game that the coaches want him to put in place and he seems to have struggled with doing what they want, even though statistically to the outsider he's seemed serviceable. If he's not willing or capable of genuinely understanding and embracing what is being asked of him, then it's better for both parties if he moves on.

He's not the sharpest tool in the shed but he's an emotive bloke who needs to clearly understand his role so his mind is clear and have his confidence up. If his mind is clouded and/or confidence down he's borderline a liability.

I think it is the issue, though, Jackcass. If there is limited interest in him, then we certainly should not trade him. In a sense, the question comes down to what is on the table and how high a price would we set before it is worth trading him. A high second round pick ? A base-rate competent 25 yo KPP ? If it is not one of those, then i'd say no. If it is, then in principle, yes.

The other factor which is hard to judge from outside the club is whether Cloke is willing or able to redevelop himself. Carey said recently that Cloke needs to rebuild his running capacity, which was once a very big part of his game before he became a musclebound goal-square wrestler who was easy to counter. I suspect this is the issue the coaches have with him. Now, this might be fixable over six months if Cloke wants to do it, but it was probably not fixable during the 2016 season. If this true, then some knowledge about whether he is prepared and able to change his fitness composition would also be a critical factor in the decision.

Chris Judd says he needs to reinvent himself in the off season by losing 5 Kg of weight and reducing upper body weight so he can keep up with the running play of modern footy. Under those circumstances I guess it's worth a try to persevere with him. Otherwise I think we should trade him.

No single Collingwood player is more responsible for the demise of the club's on-field fortunes in recent years than Travis Cloke.

Think of all those 'honourable losses" when Cloke (on $800,000/year) failed to clinch the game by simply doing what he's paid to do. Time and time and time again.

Out with him, at any price. His time was up years ago.
