Absolute gun of a player and marched to the beat of his own drum.

Robbo actually wrote a decent article about him, can't wait for the Carro version Rolling Eyes

Great servant of the club, great bloke by all accounts. Be sad to see him go but another 20 games isn't worth permanent pain.

It's not the injury, but the lack of incentive. Swan knows we're years away from a flag so why play through pain for a bottom 8 finish.

Is there a chance of him retiring and then being coaxed out of retirement by the Hawks?

Really - has he said that, or did you just make it up ?

A heading " Swanny's Cooked" is typical gutter rag journalism from Robinson

No, there is no doubt about it Daz. I actually started a thread about this about 2 weeks ago but it was locked for some silly reason.
Dane Swan will retire.

You are SO very wrong but then again, I suppose you spoke directly to Swannie like I did recently and he told you that..... Rolling Eyes
His view on Collingwood's future is totally opposite to what you (as usual) maliciously made up.... Shocked

Swan has a notorious sardonic sense of humour, its just like him to stir up die hard fans that hes thinking of retiring, to get a rise out of them. Hes a prankster par excellence, remember he was on a playing diet, then posted on Twitter he had just polished off his second box of KFC. ? I wont believe it until its come out of the club, and official, and anything fatboy Robbo writes is scuttlebutt and crap anyway. Confused

He said from the very start that if he had a good recovery and the team was well placed for 2017 he would play. Our poor results in 2016 put that to rest.

Loved Swanny and he will be sadly missed if true He was very different, a fantastic contributor and very entertaining.

All you have said is true Piesnchess and he could well have been taking me for a ride! Who knows! I can only accurately report the conversation I had with him, nothing less, nothing more.
His cousin Aaron, who was also present on the night, said to my wife that he would be extremely surprised if Swannie goes on. It is what it is.
On another issue, Swannie is really enjoying the social life being able to have a drink without official sanctions!!! Make of that what you will. Laughing

That's my view, when push comes to shove he may just go on next year and beyond.

Nope didn't happen. Bucks said in his press conference that Swan's next major appointment with his Doc is in September.
