Upset that we never selected Xavier Ellis after his immediate retirement ? Was he a better player than Dale Thomas ? Tell us what you really think ? This was a man who said he would never play for anyone but Hawthorn but became an Eagle ? But Should he have always been a Pie ? Or was he a front running Squib ? _________________ " Ohhh Banksy and out comes the Note Book".

X for Xavier turned out not to be X for X factor, but the mark you get on a test when you get a question wrong. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Nope, Thomas was MVP in aggregate across the two 2010 GFs and he was a genuine elite player until the ankle packed up. Amd we got high draft picks for trading him at just the right time to the blue yonder, as he became a high-cost spectator. I'd say it was one of the best draft pocks we've ever made. _________________ Two more flags before I die! |

We got great value for Daisy, got the best out of him and sold him for top dollar when he was washed up. _________________ Defender...........

Just be thankful that Whorethorn took him ahead of Pendles in that draft.

I don't miss the the turd daisy at all. He wanted out cos he missed having kick to kicks with his daddy mick on game day. Obviously had issues with Bucks and new he was on thin ice. Sold him at the right time for the right price after we got the best out of him. Who cares about Ellis. Money talks. Remember Mitch Clark saying he wouldn't play for anyone but heave ho way to go freo... well melscum wrote a fatter check and look where he ended up. |

Uh huh, Thomas would just be another regular on the injury list, had he stayed. I doubt he would have had much if any influence to help win the games that we lost this season or last.
Mitch Clark should have gone to Freo instead of Dreamons; he might have had enough x-factor to get them home in the 2013GF, and retire as a premiership player.

Interesting that the careers of Thomas and Ellis seemed to take opposite trajectories to date, Thomas clearly the better player early but faded, Ellis started slowly but played his best footy over his last few years. |

No. Daisy clearly had the better career and was elite in 2010/11 when Ross Lyon ranked him up there with the best midfielders in the comp.
Injury pretty much finished him after that, but eating up $700K a year in the Scum's cap means he has continued to be a valuable asset for the Pies:) |

Daisy was hands down our best player in the 2010 finals series. For that I will be eternally grateful _________________ "You must be a parking ticket, cuz you got fine written all over you" Glen Quagmire |

How can you even ask that question? Yes I hate Daisy for leaving to go to the scum, but he was 5 times the player Ellis was. Absolute elite in the 2009-2011 period and was our best player over the 2 grand finals in 2010. The bad ankle sadly has finished him, but he is still fulfilling his role for the pies by taking up a spot and cap space at the cruds.
Remember, Ross Lyon once rated him the best player in the AFL, something you would never consider for Ellis. _________________ Jatsad - That is all |

The reason this question was asked is that in 2006/2007, the Sack Buckley Brigade were then known as the Sack MM Brigade and they wanted to sack MM for taking Daisy Thomas ahead of Xavier Ellis (actually they wanted to sack MM for the same million reasons that they want to sack Bucks for now - we will never win a flag under his leadership, game has passed him by, etc.).
3rd Degree is just closing the loop on that nonsense by asking the sack MM brigade to acknowledge that maybe, just maybe, a little patience might have been wise back then so it wouldn't look so silly today!!!!!
Not sure if there is a message in there for the Sack Bucks brigade (or maybe the "De Goey is shit brigade"). Maybe we should check with Donald Trump..... _________________ Ohhh, the Premiership's a cakewalk ....... |

Many people forget Xavier Ellis' role in the Hawks 2008 flag. Was the top possession getter for the Hawks that day and set up many attacking moves. As good a game as both of Daisy's 2010 GF's. So his early career had it's highlights.
Daisy comes out on top for his superb 2010/11 seasons. Was an out-an-out star. _________________ "And that effort by Ezard was pathetic" - Don Scott. |
