On way to Pt.Fairy and train stopped at Geelong
My mind went back to a Sat. in 1953 and train way
back was packed with Maggie fans to see us knock
off Cats who had won 23 in a row
Train ride home from Geelong was one of the most
fantastic trips and I rekon Good Old Collingwood
Forever must have been sung every bloody mile

Winning that final in extra time at Subiaco Oval against the wegirls.
3 of us attacked by a mob as we sung the song over and over.
PJ punching the biggest bloke in the mouth had them backing up pretty quick
2007
Scores were tied at the end of regulation time, with both teams having scored 10.12 (72). Two five-minute periods of extra time were played to decide a winner. We kicked 3.3 to 0.2 to shut the home crowd up. _________________ Don't count the days, make the days count. |

Interesting hearing your memories of 1953, Barry. Crazy to think Geelong's winning streak of 23 matches has never been surpassed to this day.
I clearly remember the semi final against the Eagles in 2007 watching it on TV. Still couldn't believe that we knocked them off in Perth as the last time we'd beaten them at their home ground was in 1992.
Great memories. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |
