Where the hell are our front and centre players? WHERE?!?!?
StK destroyed us with front and centre players at the drop of every contest. half their goals came from front and centre play. Broomhead appears to be the only one who knows WTF this is. I can't watch it anymore.
Time for a true fact...you can either believe me or not, I don't really care.
I trained with Collingwood in the very late 1990s under Tony Shaw's tutelage. All I ever heard from Shaw and the coaching staff was FRONT & CENTRE. The number of drills that revolved around this facet of AFL was extraordinary. Front and centre. FRONT & CENTRE! You could say this sh!t is ingrained in me now, particularly as the black and white preached it ad nauseum at training.
How the hell can the 'biggest' and 'best' and most resourced club in the country not respect this fundamental aspect of football anymore? One of our greatest sons, Peter Daicos, was a marvel at it. Now, we have small forwards who would rather lead and leap than stay on the ground for easy goals.
It's beyond a joke. It's ludicrous. It's shambolic. It's embarrassing.
I'm effing over it. _________________ Est. 2002

It seems to be that all we want to do is go for the speccy on the forward line.
Faz and Elliot and Moore all busting their bodies trying to take a screamer.
Meanwhile at front and square what have we got????

Most of the top 8 sides have a classy indigenous crumbling forward.
Where is ours.........oh that's right we don't seem to want to draft them. _________________ Human behavioural studies suggest people who use a lot of swear words tend to be more honest & trustworthy. |

Nope. I'm not Luke Godden. I can kick. But I nominated for that draft. Didn't get picked up. Collingwood's loss _________________ Est. 2002 |

Agree with what you say RH, absolutely.
I'd like to add a contributing factor into the mix which is not the fault of the crumbling players though - our talls don't seem to fight to keep front position often enough in marking contests. When the guy trying to mark is doing it from in front, the crumb is more predictable. _________________ "I am a great sage, equal of heaven.

Sidebottom generally knows where to position himself, but since Krakouer left we haven't had a crumbing forward. In fact, Daicos, Didak and Medhurst are the only two that spring to mind over the last couple of decades...
Elliot is a good player, even though he flies too often against our key forwards. Fasolo can't be front and centre because he is picking himself off the ground after crashing from great heights. Even Blair isn't great at being where the ball will drop. _________________ Magpies forever.

I agree re Sidebottom. He and Broomhead are the only two who know how to crumb a contest. It's pretty simple: run to the contest, face the contest, don't jump for the ball or impact the contest, watch the drop of the ball, pounce. _________________ Est. 2002 |

Yeah, Hammer, Broomhead looks like he can get to where the ball is. _________________ Magpies forever.
