There is only one team. And that team is Collingwood.

We were unlucky because Norf where a better team. Give Buckley a 5 year extension. Hopefully, our luck returns by then.

^ yeah, good summary MM. I We are certainly more competitive than we looked earlier this year.

The clearance story was the killer though - how can that happen ???

Because we have a numpty for a coach, that's how it happens.

You're sure it is not ruck deficiency ? Lack of big bodies ? So what would you do differently ?

I don't know. I'm not pretending to be a coach.

If you are not sure of any of those things, how do you know it is the coach's fault ?

In : Goldsack, Wills
Out : Sinclair, Williams

Reid forward, White back. Maybe Cox in for Cloke or for Grundy (no knock on Brodie, just because Mason needs every bit of ruck experience he can get).
According to Channel 7 we mightn't have Varcs and White next week.
Won't matter. Bring in Cox and Gault.Grundy will get killed by Nicnast so we keep throwing fresh rucks at him. And learn to rove to a losing ruck like Port and to some extent North did tonight.

Yep, that's a skill that would come in handy.

Grundy has done a sterling job over the last few weeks, but he was out-played tonight. All part of his learning curve. If he doesn't lose heart, (or heaven forbid get inured), he's going to be magnificent in a couple of season's time. Ditto Darcy.

So damn sick and tired and angry that we give away so many goals from insipid turnovers.

Poor decision making. Greenwood, great tackle in the centre .Yay. Tries to run on and get caught. Free against! Dumb footy.

Maynard tries to bounce the ball to himself when coming out of defence.
Can't even kick to himself.

Sidebottom...frustrates me with his poor kicking...commentators call him "elite" ?????

Jeremy Howe gives away 2 goals early through lousy decision making and disposal....Grrr

Skill level and smarts are missing from this team
I hate to say it , but there has been No improvement in so many areas.

Getting so angry watching them play and give the other team so many chances to hurt us.

Well this is hurting ME too.

Thought we were heroic in the last quarter. Desperation and belief. Where did that come from? Had it been applied earlier, we could easily have won.
But throughout the game, I sensed that we had enormous energy which was being dissipated. NM was playing the kind of "unsociable" roughouse tactics that they used against Hawthorn, when they came close to winning that game. In the first half we were drastically disoriented by those tactics. That should never have happened, because our coach should have prepared us for it. At quarter time there should have been a response. Buckley should have been able to find a way to channel the anger and energy of our guys in the right direction. I thought that during the half time break, it was Buckley's moment. He had to channel that anger in a progressive direction. Result could have been different if we had. We improved, but not enough.
Last quarter, for the first 20 minutes was fantastic. Tribute to our team. but too late.
Really don't think it was a case of any individual player not performing up to speed. It is an issue of the entire team's coherence and synchronicity. The burning question is: can Buckley harness that energy?

Awful skill execution and decision making. Mistakes made all night long. Gave up an early 5 goal lead, average teams cannot win doing this stuff. Dysfunctional forward line applies zero pressure. We saw everything wrong with our team tonight, how we got within a few goals in the last just to throw in the towel is torturous. Williams, Varcoe, Smith, Brown, Cloke, Maynard, Marsh, Crisp, Aish and Fasolo were all horrible, that is 10 players giving basically nothing from a positive play perspective. We need a massive list overhaul. Another worst performance under Buckley contender to throw in the pile. I understand now that we need a game with low pressure in order to play well, what a soft side we are.

We have a decent list but unfortunately the whole coaching staff aren't able to get the best out of the list.
Tonight sums up Buckleys time as coach.

15% great football
15% really good effort but just fall short
50% nobody really knows what to do
20% RUBBISH!!!!!
