In my view Shiel is a better player than Treloar.
I really rate toby green as well.
Treloar is still an excellent player but not yet as good as Shiel. _________________ we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest. |

Treloar does not push back hard at all!!
I see Adams, Pendles, greenwood pushing right into back pocket at times
But Treloar operates from defensive 50 line, forward |

Look let's not make things up.
From another thread I posted a couple of weeks ago:
I think this counts season disposals (at the time):
Defensive 50: 59
Defensive Half/Flank: 161
Forward 50: 37
Forward Half/Flank: 140
I'd post the actual heat map, but couldn't be bothered.
Whatever those numbers really mean, he gets a lot of possies deep in the back line. _________________ Go Pies! |

Think they actually show he does most of his work between the arcs, averaging about 4 a game inside D50 which as I pointed out when this was flagged in the other thread does nothing to counter my perception that he doesn't work as hard defensively as I think he could or should. |

I love Treloar. He is a gun and I am really happy that we got him to the club. I just think that Shiel is a better player.
But Treloar is still a fantastic player. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

Have a look at Treloar's game last night.
He got the ball every couple of minutes.
He always racks up disposals.
But, do these disposals hurt the opposition that much?
No they don't.
Would you take the 15 or so disposals each that the Burgoyne or Rioli
had on friday night or their combined total that Treloar had?
It is a simple answer.
Treloar is not a great kick, the ball floats and he doesn't have great penetration with his kicking. _________________ we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest. |

Treloar's explosive run and carry is his biggest asset at the moment. He muffs alot of his kicks off said runs which he should improve with time and experience hopefully.
Haven't seen enough of Shiel to make a good comparison, but I'll vote Treloar cause he plays for the Pies. |

Last night's game showed it very clearly. As much as I think he is a good player, Adam is not a good kick.
Nathan just spend as much time as you can with him and teach him how to kick. If he can get that right he will be elite, it's basically the only skill he lacks in. _________________ Go Pies! |

ill say treloar as he has more game than shields atm.
our man tackles, is evasive, is elite by hand and has the desire
to be the best he can be.
last year before shields was injured was a better player due
to his kicking efficiency but treloar and the work he applies
upon himself took the pro forma for the two and is still ahead. _________________ no second chances |

Honestly why should we be even comparing these 2. We chased Treloar and here he is.
His kicking was down last night, but bloody hell our forward structure was truly horrendous. All tall forwards flying for the ball. Or all forwards running to the same position.
I also thought he was trying to kick to advantage, for reasons unknown our forwards wanted to play from behind.
I still can't believe how poor they were. _________________ "Still waiting for your call Caroline ... not a quote in sight. Don't ever presume to speak on Collingwood's behalf," |
