On Talking Footy last night Sam Mitchell [guest commentator] mentioned how
media had Hawks early in season with a less chance of GF appearance
Now they have us in GF
Simalar with GWS big chance--now doubts on them
This is not word for word just the gist of his thoughts on media
Tim Watson said in answer "That honest approach wont help if you want a media position "
Does that mean a little dishonesty goes a long way in media _________________ I'm not arguing--just explaining why i am right |

Yep I agree. I'm still waiting for David King to say Collingwood have shown nothing this year again after last weeks win. |

I was having a laugh at KB's pathetic claim that GWS could win the flag, this is a club that hasn't yet to win a final in their history. _________________ " Ohhh Banksy and out comes the Note Book".

I'm shocked, I'm speechless, how could this be?
I suggest watching this film might be in order - mind you get it on netflix or wherever

David King used to nominate us to win the premiership.
Not the behaviour of a Pie hater.
And yes, there is dishonesty and promotion in the media. Surprised?
Reckon Rupert Murdoch doesn't get his view across through his papers? _________________ One team, one dream - the Pies and this year's premiership |

uuummmm. not much of that is a correct translation of what went on.
the context was the "blowtorch" segment of talking footy. mitchell turned the blowtorch on the footy media making big, outrageous calls and that some might want to temper this past time by making calls based on reaility. this was when watson said in jest the comment i bolded above. _________________ Purveyor of sanctimonious twaddle. |

Generally media is very quick to write off players or clubs and also nominate them as a finals/flag contender. And usually off the back of 1 or 2 wins/losses.
Eg: Hutch last night was saying Norf should sack the coach and rebuild. FFS their 1 game off 4th in an even season. How could you even think that this year is now a write off. |

Media plays to a 24 hour news cycle. Hardly surprising they roll out the flavour of the hour. |

I don't know whether to thank you for the clarification or to express my deep sorrow and anguish for you that you were watching a football talk show. |

It has always bothered me how reactive they are. They seem unable to see beyond what has happened in the last week or two and capable of flipping a 180 based on a single game.
You'd think that ex-players, coaches etc would have a deeper insight. Apparently not. |

Unfortunately, it's not just the football media that is shallow. _________________ kill for collingwood! |
