The NRA has a lot of power in the USA.

In other late breaking news, the sky is blue and water is wet.

The US is becoming more and more divided. With the likes of Trump and the Tea Party making the divide even greater. ISIS is just speeding up the process. History may actually repeat with a new Civil War.

My US friends and Co workers, many of whom despise Obama and blame Obama for everything yet refuse to vote. They simply have no tolerance for those that are different, sound familiar? It's coming here when you have the likes of Pauline Hansen getting into the Senate. Luckily we just don't have guns as readily available.

The NRA and gun businesses will no doubt be looking at bonanza gun sales Monday.

The guy with the broken tail light was a suspect in an armed robbery the day before and had an APB out on him. Ah the media, Never let the truth get in the way of a god story.

Sounds like you've just invented a new sub-title for the Bible...

Let's assume that he was a suspect. The issue is not why he was stopped and questioned, so much as why he was killed for no reason when he apparently presented no threat. The world is full of "felons". They don't need to be shot on sight.

Q: what do you do after you have shot an unarmed man, not resisting in any way, in the chest twice and he is lying on the ground unable to move because of his injuries?

A: tell him to put his hands up and then, when he doesn't ('cause you already shot him and he can't move other than twitching in agony as his life ebbs away), shoot him again. Twice.

Protect and serve,. Yer right.

It is time some of these uniformed killers were put behind bars for 30 years with no parole. There is no excuse, none whatever. Watch the video. They shoot a mortally wounded unarmed man who is lying on the ground, not resisting in any way, probably not even conscious. It is cold-blooded murder with no possible excuse. See for yourself.

What we have here is a failure to communicate. You need to get your head around that in the USA the police are not as well trained as here and I will add that heir salary is pretty low. Many are in it the job for the power.

Now throw in these three factors that a poorly trained officer has to deal with when pulling a car over:
Possibility if the driver is carrying a gun is very high;
Possibility if the driver is black and carrying a gun is even higher; and
Possibility if the driver is black and is a convicted felon is extremely high.

That officer has his gun in his hand and is ready to fire. So any sudden movement you are dead.

With no real social welfare structure you have many blacks surviving on a life of crime and with 3 strikes and your out you basically don't want to get caught. Throw in guns, gangs and drugs you have a recipe for killin.

So now we are classing the feeble twitchings of an unarmed, mortally wounded man lying on the ground in agony as his life ebbs away as "sudden movement" requiring two more shots to kill? Interesting point of view.

The black person I refer to was the one driving the car (busted taillight) and despite all the media hype that tried to make the person out as an angel he was anything but. Amazingly no more media BS about that fellow.

Based on the video he deserved to be shot the first time - I think he was baiting them to shoot. If I was the cop I would have shot him too.

At this point it shows the man on the ground in a bit of strife but not armed or reaching for a weapon. The problem with the video, it goes a bit dark/obscured? when then the next shots are fired.

I'm sure there were witnesses than can account for what happened with the last couple of shots.

"Deserved to be shot"? What delusional planet are you living on?

  • He was unarmed.
  • He wasn't threatening anyone.
  • He wasn't aggressive.
  • He wasn't near any other person he could harm.
  • He was covered by two deadly weapons.

For this he "deserved to be shot?" Anyone who could write that doesn't deserve to be in the human race. You honestly think that an unarmed, non-threatening, man nowhere near anyone he could hurt (even if he was armed or threatening, which he wasn't) "deserved to be shot"?

Looked like a confused drunk to me. And for that he was shot dead. Only in the United States, home of the legal murder.

As for the business of shooting a mortally wounded man lying on the ground in a pool of his own blood, a man who had threatened no-one, harmed no-one, had no weapon, and couldn't even move because he'd already been shot and was dying, for that there is absolutely no excuse at all. None. Plain, simple murder, and the sub-human responsible should never, ever be allowed out of jail.

Looks like suicide by Police to me.

Let's stop the BS on this one Tannin, in America you don't act in the manner he was with Police and walk towards them while holding one hand behind your back. It's asking to be shot, which is exactly what happened. Whether he "deserved to be shot" is another question but he certainly can, and should, be held partly to blame for what happened. As for the shot fired after he fell you can't see what happens you can only hear the Police officers telling him not to reach for the weapon and then another shot is fired.

Police shooting in America will continue until the American people make the decision to reliquish their firearms. The chance of a fatal shooting is, of course, massively increased when dealing with a largely armed public. As for those officers that will use the "armed public" excuse to commit murder well if the firearms weren't available to the public then those officers would no longer have that excuse available and either leave, be removed or have to Police as per the law.

Deserved was probably not the right choice of words. As OEP put it, asking is more appropriate.

I'm comfortable the police made the right call based on the available footage.

You cant see that he is unarmed, he is not co-operating with police, we don't know what was done prior or his history for him to be pulled over.

My assumptions based on half of the facts are as good as anyone's
