Wow, that back 6 is seriously a revolving door. Have 6 played together at the sometime for more than a week???

I'd argue many players have performed well below the standard that Goldsack met last week, in most games this season, yet still retained their spots for the following game. Oh, what would I know...

I'm not criticising the changes. Marsh had to come back in after his Freo game, and Williams has been struggling. I'm just stating the obvious when looking at the team on paper...the back 6 is yet to be settled. Having said that, could prob say the same about every line.

Well, i'm okay with 4 of the 5 changes anyhow.
Sorry to crap on about Goldsack, but he has played some games in years past, well below his effort against Carlton last week, and again selected the following week. I'm struggling to follow the logic in this instance.

Oh, and f*ck me sideways - we've fluked it for Stevic this week too....

I thought the same about the Sack, but then considered that a first game rookie called Silvagni got an awful lot of it while pretty much unmarked by his opponent. I think that might be the answer, there....

I love the changes.... I think its almost the strongest side we've put out all year.

I guess the exception would be Goldsack out as he was great last week.

*The Caff has been great in the VFL, but I think he's a little lucky to get a shot. Especially after Goldsacks job last week. But I guess he is coming in for Levi, with Marsh coming in for Sack.

*Phillips and Williams had to be dropped. And Cox needed to be rested, so I like those calls. Levi being rested is a surprise, but it'll give Caff the chance to suggest we keep him next year or not. (I am expecting a Caff thread win/loss/draw).

*Fas, Adams, White & Marsh all in is great.

Goldsack was only brought in to replace Marsh (if Marsh had been fit, Goldsack would not have played), In order to retain his position vis-a-vis Marsh, he would have had to play demonstrably better than Marsh did against Freo. Clearly it was judged that he did not. Also, there might be considerations due to the pace of GWS...Marsh might have been selected because of his extra pace. These are two reasons which would provide a basis to me for accepting the decision.

Thanks blokes; looks like the onus will be on Marsh to maintain that effort prior to his injury the other week.

It is a little easier to replace players who are "below standard" if there is actually alternative players available. Goldy just unlucky that there is a better option available.

Look, to be honest, I hardly think it is fair to compare Blair's figures with Puopolo's. Triple P, or whatever, benefits from slightly superior delivery and slightly more opportunity than Blair. Blair's actions are hard to pick up on TV, you have to watch very closely to appreciate all his tap ons, shepherds, and of course his tackling energy. I understand Blair's position in our team...he is our Puopulo type of high pressure small forward, and there is no point in demanding that he be dropped until we have a like for like replacement, because this type of small forward is crucial in the modern game.

Blair v Puopolo stuff has been done to death but despite the relative team performances there still isn't a lot in it other then scoreboard impact.

Poppy's figures once again enhanced in a winning side last night, Blair more likely than not to play in a losing side tomorrow night.

Make no mistake, we will beat the Giants tomorrow and the football world will experience shock and awe as they witness Collingwood finally waking from its slumber and begin it's inexorable rise up the AFL ladder. Pies by 18 points. Cool

I'd have the Sack as the defensive forward over Blair this week, particularly as Sacks hands looked pretty good last week.

Now, to be sure, that would have left us short on 1%ers and seen-by-few packwork, but I'm confident the rest of the team will be able to step up and fill the gap, or would have been, as the case may be.

Confusing. I thought our problems were because of a lack of stability and then we "manage" players. Like WTF!!!

Buckley is either a certified genius or authentic whacko.

I actually agree. I think we are primed for this and have selected wisely.

What I feel is strange is that all year plenty of Nicksters and the Club have blamed the constant changes for an unsettled side.
And what do we do this week ....make 5 changes.
