Swanny it is. He's kicked 21 goals in finals.
For MM, I might add that Jamie Elliott is yet to kick a goal in a final (he's played 3). |
Elliott goalless - that really surprises me! Thanks P4S.
Cheers to sixpoints, I admit I had to look up Boyall.

1. Name the Collingwood players who kicked more than 1 goal on debut but never played for the Club again.
2. Name the player who played for Collingwood but made his footballing name winning the JJ Liston Trophy as the star of back-to-back VFA premiership teams. |

It's not Laurie Hill or Peter Marshall. Laurie was a wonderful player and won, in fact, two Liston Trophies after playing in Collingwood's '64 and '66 Grand Final sides - but he only played in one VFA flag. The player I have in mind was a teammate of his at Preston. Peter Marshall didn't, I think, win the Liston, although he did captain Preston. |

In case anyone is interested, Jimmy Seaton and Greg Fyffe each kicked two goals on debut but never played another game for the 'Pies. Seaton played in 1912, so not too many of us will have been there, but Fyffe played his game in 1983. It was a loss to the eventual Premiers of that year but Fyffe can consider himself unlucky not to get another game - he had 12 kicks and 2 handballs and kicked 2 goals, 3 behinds. Apart from Craig Stewart (4.3), he was the 'Pies' only multiple goalkicker that day.
Still looking for an answer to question 2. It wasn't Ray Shaw, Laurie Hill or Peter Marshall but the player concerned did play with Laurie Hill at Preston for a time. |

Yes, well done Albert Parker.
Dick only played the one game for Collingwood but he played in Preston's 1968 and 1969 flag-winning teams (Laurie Hill went to Preston in 1969 and also played in that team).
I saw Preston's 1968 Grand Final win against Prahran live at the ground - in those days, I was a Prahran supporter in the VFA, because of the Collingwood connection (Kevin Rose and Errol Hutchesson played for Prahran around that time). Back in those days, we were inclined to predict whether our favourite VFA players would get a chance to make it in the VFL. My two favourite Prahran players were Rod Appleton (who went to Fitzroy and played 2 games in 1975) and one Wayne Johnston (about whom the less said, the better). |

P4S, mate i'm dumbfounded by that; i'm sure i was at that game as a 12 y/o, but cannot recall that player or the related trivia!

Can anybody recall what the hell was going on there?!
Never to be seen again - that was amazingly ridiculous!
I remember Rocca and McMullin getting dropped prior to the 1992 elimination final, depsite kicking two goals each in the first qtr against Adelaide in the final round [our only goal scorers that first qtr BTW...] _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |

Ridiculous is the most apt word to describe such a farce.
Geez, even Patty K and Kyle Martin got a better run than that! _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |
