Is there a more important player for us? He is an absolute rock for us in defence (and a gun up forward too mind you), and has to be in AA contention this season.
I've said a few times that I rate him as Pendlebury's equal in terms of our best players - there may have been a bit of bias in that but I'll keep that opinion for now. Absolute star, and one of my favourite players that I've ever seen in the black and white.
Elite reader of the play, elite marking, elite one-on-one body work and elite kicking skills. I still close my eyes when he gets knocked to the ground (assuming an injury is coming up), but so far so good this year.
I guess I'm posting this thread for some Ben Reid love to be shared and to ask - who rates him as our best and/or most important player? Just me? |

Agreed Leon , Chop has had a great year and definitely should be in the AA team this year. He killed those crab sticks last night. _________________ " Ohhh Banksy and out comes the Note Book".

Reid is vital to our future. He reads the play as good as anyone got around and when he's not having to be the deepest defender he offers so much more
That booming left boot is invaluable
As for AA I wouldn't be holding your breathe.
In our recent glory years of 2010/11 we had 4 players in a team when we won the flag and 5 the following year
This year we have only 3 in the running
Pendles Treloar & Reid.
As much as he deserves it there won't be any favours done for him or any other pies player
Even Pendles and Treloar may be lucky to get a run as they are already saying Dangerfield Duckwood Lewis Neale Kennedy are front runners for midfield spots.
I'll be happy if he doesn't play would hate to see him hurt playing a nothing game which would be our luck |

Absolutely agree Leon.
Worth his weight in gold.
Crucial while we grow & gel as a (mainly) young side. |

His scud missile type dart kicks of 55 metres that just pass over the heads of opponents into a magpie players hands is fantastic to see. _________________ I love the Pies, hate Carlscum |

But his customary two OOB OTH per game and one kick into the man on the mark are not,
Agree he is a pretty important cog at them moment but I'm not sold on his longevity. Fingers crossed.
He seems to be working well with Maynard & Marsh but not so much when Frost is in the team. |

No.
He's lost half a yard of pace, but more than makes up for that with his positioning and general footy smarts. _________________ "I am a great sage, equal of heaven.

Interesting that he was saying in a post match interview that ballet training has been the key to getting his body back in shape to return to senior footy. He couldn't believe how hard the training is (no tutu required). Wonder if the club will make it a part of the entire squads training regime or at least those players with injury issues. |

Potentially the flexibility ballet gives him helps him avoid injury _________________ Now Retired - Every Day Is A Saturday |

Quite a while ago I had him as the most important player we had on the list but now what we're seeing in Ben is a very good player and still one of our most important player so to you km who is? Treloar? _________________ no second chances |
