How hard were these 2 tossers trying to get Freo back into the game tonight?
They constantly repeated "if Freo can get the next goal....".
And how often were they talking up Freo's young kids while our youngsters were giving them a touch up.
It made my ears hurt.

It was interesting when they were comparing the injury lists of the two sides and Carey said our missing players were more important.
Cometti and McAvaney nearly choked.

There needs to be a "mercy rule" for veteran commentators who outstay their welcome. Bruce has an assistant called Josh Kaye who feeds him inane stats straight from Wikipedia to make him seem informed. Dennis studies and rehearses quotes and lines then espouses them on air like he is somehow spontaneously clever.
Sad and pathetic!

| I have always very much enjoyed Dennis' comments. He's usually been very generous about our players. I don't begrudge him favouring the sides from the West in his call, generally - and when one of the teams in the televised game is being flogged, it's his job to try to talk them up a bit to keep the neutral supporters from switching over to the NRL. As for his jokes, scarcely a day goes by when I don't have a quiet chuckle about his wonderful description of The Smother. I will miss him. |

Yes they were trying to keep the game close (so were the umpires icidentally) but Cometti is the best in the business in my mind. I don't mind Bruce either, still have fond memories of him calling 'Rocca!"

| I have respect for commentators who have played senior footy. So Commeti is all right. All the others have no idea what they are talking about and are purely there for entertainment. |

Did any one hear Bruce say Pavlic has a nice arse?
They were discussing how Pavlic is good at using his big backside to block the Collingwood defenders after he took a mark. Bruce added something like "and it is very nice too" at the end of the discussion.

Yes, agree. Cometti is intelligent and will be missed. Bruce (doesn't he) is not the worst (isn't he) - if I were given the option to toss over just one commentator, it would be Brian Taylor, who is simply awful.

Love Cometti and will miss his dulcet tones. Bruce annoys me and I'll be happy when he hangs up the mic, but the worst of the lot is Dwayne Russell. He is far and away the worst and grates like no other.

Commetti is an ex Freo coach in the WAFL, he supports them I am pretty sure.
