With Eddie putting his Foot in His Mouth on MMM Again. Nothing Terrible but still silly to say on Radio.

He had said some Silly think on before and the Big 2 I can remember:

Saying GWS was the Land of the Felafal

Saying Goodes looked like King Kong. After him Pointing out the Young Pies Fan

So does he need to choose 1 out of these 2:

1 - He gives up his Presdency. So he can stay on Love Radio/TV so it Separated Himself from Collingwood

2- Give up his Live TV/Radio Career so he does not say any Silly(Foot in Mouth Problem) things on Radio

So does he need to Decide which one or Can he Keep Both

Dave, Eddie never said the Goodes looked like King Kong. He made some bumbling gaffe about bringing Goodes down to Melbourne to promote the King Kong stage show. Linking together; Goodes, the ape comment from the young Pies fan and King Kong. A ludicrous thing to say - but that's all 3 years ago & has been done to death.
The latest gaffe, offering to donate more money if Carolline Wilson remains underwater is again a ludicrous statement.
We all know Eddie has done great things for us, and you don't need me to list them for you.
But after all these years, I'm cringing just that little bit more. He's got to do better in the public realm. He is President of the greatest club and should act accordingly.

President of Collingwood isn't a paid job, it's a voluntary gig. You can't reasonably suggest that someone takes on an unpaid role and has to give up their paid employment.

I've been of the opinion for years that Eddie has to pick one or the other.

He's done many good things for the club and I love the fact he puts club first... but he does come out with some stupid comments from time to time that's always getting the club some unneeded media time.

If Legends Members do get a chance to vote on the next president, I'll be voting against him; provided it's somebody of worth.

I also have no issues with presidents having second jobs, as you said, it's not a paid role. So no issue, but stuff like this does make me think from time to time that Eddie just has to shut his mouth.

Watch, it will be a bigger media storm than Scott's comments about the umpiring and Eddie has to take that into consideration sometimes when he makes an attempt at humor.

I would've give the OP the satisfaction of voting. When the ones who want Eddie gone can provide better alternative then speak up.

Footy is media business these days, so having a Pres who is a power in the media is great for COLLINGWOOD.

I think it's a mistake to believe that Eddie's media profile does anything but good for Collingwood.

His enemies, and the Magpie haters in general, would love nothing more than for him, and the club, to have much less of a media profile. We shouldn't get sucked into supporting them in their aims.

Those people complaining the loudest do not have Collingwood's best interests at heart.

Rubbish DTM. They will be loving it. How many people go the football to cheer on what Wilson writes. If Swanny kicks 22 goals on his comeback next year she will write that he was greedy and should have handballed to Nathan Brown in the backline because he was clear. She has had a set against us after Swanny told her to piss off a few years ago and has bagged the club ever since. her gender here is totally irrelevant and sponsors know that.

DTM you do realise that the president is an unpaid job?
Do you understand that every other president Collingwood has had also worked?
Do you understand that the presidents of every other club also have jobs?

Brayshaw is president of North and has a job in the media did you know that?

There isn't any link at all between the two episodes. As you said, one was a gaffe where he had to play the tape back to hear what he said and then immediately issued an apology to Adam Goodes. The reason the Collingwood board didn't take any action was that the action had already been taken, namely the apology.
The second incident occurred in friendly banter raising money for MND and to relate his remarks to domestic violence is misconstruing what was said in the light of the occasion. Those people criticising him are on a political agenda with an axe to grind against Eddie. Caroline Wilson should be flattered her name was mentioned. Shows she is respected as a football writer. Instead she overreacts by becoming super sensitive reading into it something it wasn't intended. Furthermore it took a week for the episode to gather speed. Shows the whole episode is a blow up.
