Wow! I had to go out for a few minutes. I come back and Chile lead 7:0. Vargas has 4.

This Mexico team has not lost in any of its previous 22 games. Remarkable stuff.

There's the final whistle. The ref puts the Mexicans (the team and their 60,000 supporters at the ground) out of their misery.

The semis will be Argentina v USA and Colombia v Chile. Both games will be FTA on SBS.

Predicting that Argentina will beat the USA comfortably and Colombia and Chile is too close to call but that will be a cracking match with the third ranked team playing the fifth ranked team in the world.

Chile's 7-0 thrashing against Mexico was ruthless.

Argentina scored against the US in the third minute. Presently, it's 1:0 after 20 minutes.

And with a Messi free-kick, Argentina lead 2:0 and Lionel becomes Argentina's all-time leading goal-scorer in full internationals (overtaking Gabriel "Batigol" Batistuta).

Make that 4:0. Another goal to Higuaín after 86 minutes.

So, Argentina win 4:0 and will play in the final on Monday morning, 10.00am our time (against the winner of tomorrow morning's other semi-final between Colombia and Chile).

Perhaps I'm just expressing my own concern about it.

Too easy for Argentina. I'm hoping the Colombia and Chile match will be close in comparison.
