Post subject: Keep the quality kids in the AFL for rest of the season | |
|
With the massive upset today over GWS has give some people idea we are a sniff of the Finals. I feel we have to do to Much to get in.
I want us to keep getting games into our quality kids so they can keep developing at the highest level. Get more at AFL level then VFL Level.
The Kids I play in AFL:
-Darcy Moore
-James Aish
-Jordan De Goey
-Braydan Maynard
-Jonathon Marsh
They need game time and Should get it. Only Drop if there Effort badly drops off _________________ I am Da Man |

I doubt any of that list, barring maybe Aish, will be dropped, considering a couple of them have been carried/persevered with this far.
You wouldn't qualify Aish for VFL finals? _________________ I am vengeance. I am the night. I am MagpieBat. |

I don't think any are in danger of losing their spots anyway, maybe Degoey, but IMO Degoey should've been moved to defence months ago, of our current team i'd prefer Greenwood over Degoey and i'd keep Caff as a defensive fwd. _________________ Defender...........

Nope, certainly not.
Needs to play 2 more VFL games and no more than 4 of the last 7 AFL ones... _________________ I am vengeance. I am the night. I am MagpieBat. |

That makes a Tough Little One. Do we put him back to the VFL so he can play VFL Finals or keep him in the AFL.
I would keep him in AFL myself but could be a Sneaky thing done late in the Season _________________ I am Da Man |

The club wouldn't give a flying duck about the VFL mate.
Every win we get makes the Treloar deal better. _________________ Defender...........

No, I don't think we keep them in regardless of form. Just like we dropped Cox, Philips and Witts, we should drop anyone who's not contributing. Gifting games is not good for development. If these boys are doing the right thing they likely remain in the side, if not they need to be sent back or they're not going to learn.
You also need to reward the effort of other players, even if they are older, like White getting the nod over Cox for superior form. It makes for an unhealthy vibe when games are undeservedly being granted. _________________ Well done boys! |

IF they where playing Appalling Football then they will get Dropped. Doubt that will Happen
Cox and Phillips Dropped where fair. Wits got Dropped as he did not play well with Grundy and Grundy is Clearly better _________________ I am Da Man

Exciting young players tend to carried at times in the name of development but there's a fine line between that and the danger of giving them a sense of entitlement. I'm all for giving the youngsters a go but it must be earned. _________________ Formally frankiboy and FrankieGoesToCollingwood. |

Every win also puts our second round pick back too. And likely strengthens the chances of Bucks' coaching career being extended.
I'd stil rather keep winning though. We need to build into next season, not flake out. I'd rather play our best team each week, not just give games for development. _________________ "The night is a very dark time for me" Chaz Michael Michaels |

Buckley has done this better than any other coach I can remember us having, except maybe Matthews, who was prepared to drop BT in and out. _________________ Get back on top. |
