Yes. His influence waned a little as the game went on but he was the main reason Collingwood was 5 times Freo's score at halftime. He was splendid. Also, he brought the same desperate effort to every contest all night, even when things weren't going his way - and there looked to be a couple of others who didn't.

I reckon he has been playing hurt, looked confident and moved a lot more freely last night. He also seemed more settled. Great game form him indeed, might have to change my votes!

Has been building all season after a poor start. Best game for the season last night. Wasn't bad last week against Melbourne either. It looke worse than it actually was after the side capitulated after half time and Gawn got all the accolades.

Oh look we have a ruckman after all, as long as he's not coached or selected out of the game like he was last week.

I've been harking on about this for a few years now, but it's now reached crisis point. We simply do not have a single decent ruckman on our list. Until we recruit from somewhere a ruckman who can actually give us first use of the ball at ball ups then we are destined for mediocrity or worse. At present Grundy is our best ruckman, but he is really more of a ruck rover as he gets beaten at hitouts virtually every week. Witts has not improved in 3 years and Cox will need another 2 years to learn how to play the game.

Back in 2009 MM finally relented and we recruited Jolly. The result was a Premiership. Right now, I think we are similarly placed. For all our apparent weaknesses in defence, midfield and up forward, once we have Ramsay, Scharenberg, Moore, Adams, Fasolo, Keeffe and (maybe) Swan back next year, we should have all bases covered....except the ruck.

Discussion, please?

Brodie Grundy has arrived. He has been the missing link in our team. This day will go down as the day we began our climb up the ladder and became a Premiership threat.....next year if not this. Go Pies!

As I said in another thread....It's all about the ruck guys. It's always been about the ruck. It's always going to be about the ruck. Brodie Grundy has arrived....and so has Collingwood!
