Joke of a thread, we have won every single game (barring when he got injured) Adams played in a Shaw like role this year. |

Not like his absence cost us the premierships in 1979 or 1981. _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |

There's no way he'd have coped... |
Yep, if you thought he went off his tree most weeks at what were the remnants of the 2010-2011 backlines, imagine what he'd be spraying at Frost, Sinclair, Marsh, Williams and Maynard et al, who excel at hitting the opposition on the chest with the pill, lace-out.
It's just a zoo down there, minus Maxwell. |

Plus we part paid for a few years of his salary.
AA last year and most likely this year.
Probably has another 2 or 3 years left in him
Long enough for a GWS flag
We got a player who is yet to be rated as an A grader.
He has some potential but how much I don't know.
At the moment GWS are miles ahead in this trade. |

Says a huge amount about what he thought about the coach.
Heater is a competitive beast, so put him in a side with belief and he is there. _________________ we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest. |

Bet you didn't say that when he blocked the Goal in 2010.

Obviously if we could've kept Shaw and traded our pick 10 (Freeman) instead for Adams that would have been the best scenario. But given where we are in our premiership window Adams will serve us much better than Shaw considering his prime will be when we're out of the finals |

But we would never have known who genius Hine was looking at?
We would have said: that inept decision cost us Cripps [which it did].

I think we have done well. Heater's time was up when he blew a gasket in that final vs Port in 2013. If we didn't trade him we wouldn't have got Taylor Adams if we just let him finish his contract. We would have left us for much less. We traded him for the highest possible currency.
Cloke might well be the example of what can/might happen if we let it drag on. _________________ Human behavioural studies suggest people who use a lot of swear words tend to be more honest & trustworthy. |

I often wonder if Peter Moore had stayed at Collingwood post 1982, would we have still chased Cloke [and Raines] for 1983 to ruck for us?
And if so, would we have advanced through to 2010 premiership without Travis in his prime, let alone the 2011 grand final?
A very interesting hypothetical question eh? _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |
