The problem about today was that Melb (apart from Gawn's dominance) weren't actually that good. they stuffed around and missed plenty of opportunities and targets - its just that we made a middle of the road side look like a champion side. the fact that they had some system while we had none just makes it more galling.

Okay, so a big cheerio to all you Buckley Care-Bears out there!
Have a great day at the footy? Again?
Enjoy your carbon-copy of last week's meek surrender?
How's that path to the Promised Land looking?

I can't even be bothered bagging the players anymore.
Just when I thought some players might be hard done by to be delisted at seasons end, a new batch of spuds put their hands up to volunteer.
I actually don't care anymore, nor will I care until the numpty consortium in the coaches box is removed. Maybe keep Burns. Maybe.

I don't think Cloke would have won us the game, but he deserved to be out there contesting. The only player Melbourne are shit scared of too.
In what parallel universe do Witts, Grundy and Cox work in harmony to win us a football game?

I look forward to a week off from this bullshit, as i'm sure many other posters will too. Who f*cking needs the stress?

Don't bother, they ain't even here.....picked fights and then pissed off as usual...weak as piss...

The skills aren't there but worse is that the effort is gone. How sad that these players can't put in 4 quarters of effort.

Injuries can excuse some things, but lack of effort isn't one of them. Even those gifted a game through injury can't put the effort in.

Coach has to go.

You see, I actually disagree with this, I thought the effort was alright, it was the butchery of the ball, and without the ball, that did it.

I'm talking running over the ball, missing tackles, missing gettable set shots, handballs to no one....

Massive glaring stat was the uncontested possession count.
Usually would suggest a lack of chase and spread. Yes this was a bit of an issue, but not THE issue. Other things lead to getting beaten on the spread today, wasn't as simple as a lack of run.

Melbourne simply waltzed through traffic all day like there was nobody there.
You have to clear the traffic before outside runners are of any use at all.
Pressure on the ball carrier is what we base our game on, other parts flow from there.

When the opposition can win the ball in close and get out of the congestion without a much pressure, today is what you get.

Yeah - as if the loss of Swan, Elliott, Sharenberg, Fasolo, Moore, Adams, Ramsay, Williams, Langdon, Broomhead should make a difference. Those blokes are just top up players really. Freo have a few injuries and they seem to be travelling ok. Same with Gold Coast. Injuries are a cop out huh?[/b]

But I would like to point out a few things.
1. De Goey is a dud.
I have watched him closely this year and he has one big big issue.
He fumbles often when not under pressure and a lot when under big pressure.
His disposal is poor both by hand and foot when uner any sort of pressure.

I actually thought he was a bit better this week than previous weeks...but then again I didn't rate Blair as the halftime BOG, so what do I know?

And aish gets dropped when in fact has better out put for his clean disposal and decision making. I'm simply dumbfounded.

I think one of our biggest issues that is probably not talked about too much is our ability to sprint. I mean, how often do you really see collingwood players sprint their asses off? They gallop or jog mostly. Especially our midfield, even when they have the ball they do not take off 100 mph. Maybe Treloar is the only one who does it, all the others are plodders. All good sides (even Melbourne) have mids that sprint hard and I think that is probably at the heart of why we are outnumbered at contests so often and lose uncontested possession every week. Can our players sprint? If not then we need to overhaul our midfield squad in a big way.

One other point
All other clubs are now doing the the rioli tackle
that is pin one arm or hand so they can not do a handball.
Melbourne was doing it but not us.
Do we actually practice this.
Doesn't look like it.

The thing that saddens me the most apart from the shite you cop from the wankers who come out of the woodwork everytime we lose, which is becoming boringly regular,is the players who keep getting a game.Surely Frost has to go ,for good.He is not up to standard.Worst player in the AFL and I say that with a heavy heart, yet he get's a game every week??? Marsh.Nearly as bad.Has not got a clue and Sinclair is an embarrassment.I readily admit that I thought Witts will give us the goods. Not any longer.Gone.Terrible. Marley Williams is close to the worst disposer fin the game and some of the decisions he made today were baffling. There was one play in the last qtr where he burst through the pack on the wing and he could have run and kicked to the square BUT he stopped, did a 360 and then on his RIGHT??? foot, dinkied a little 20 metre pass straight to a melbourne player. I'm afraid I'm off Smith.A 2 touch player who ,after he fumbles, can regain and ,usually under pressure from fumbling earlier, will spray the ball to where ever it may go.Certainly not to one of us. I'm also saddened to see a comment about the camera on Buckley and he "Looked like a man without a clue"!!! I had to agree. I'm pleased to say I'm off for a well deserved O/S holiday for a couple of months and won't have to put up with that shite for a while. I see no light at the end of the tunnel and I try to think on the positive side but this was a devastating day for me.

I suppose the players will go off and enjoy some warm beach holiday over the next week.

They should stay in Melbourne and work their arses off, making themselves better players.
