Yes and no.
Yes - fair chunk of top end talent missing (about 20% of first pick list)
No - in my no basis on fact option, it still looks like the game plan being used is dependant on the players we don't have as opposed to the players we do.
Still would't be smashing down the door to the 8, but wouldn't get smashed off the park each week either. |

I do not think he will be the Messiah TP but if he had been playing the last couple of season you would think that he would be a regular back line player and would hold a permanent position in the top 22. You would think that potentially the team would be better of with a fit Scharenberg with two years experience under his belt.
Two knees and foot surgery is a hell of a way to start your AFL career. Let's just hope that this is the end of his bad luck and he goes on to realise his potential. _________________ Now Retired - Every Day Is A Saturday |

I go back a couple years ago when I attended a fundraising luncheon and was lucky enough to be seated at the same table as Leigh Matthews. I asked him his opinion on both Scharenberg & Freeman. He said if Scharenberg hadn't had foot issues he would have gone #1 in the draft in his opinion. Said he hadn't seen a player with such poise and time in many years. Likened him to a young Pendles slash Simon Black mix. His word is good enough for me.
How these injuries affect his future is anyone's guess but if he comes good then I'm sure we will have a heck of a player on our hands |
