Jesse White was traded from Syd to us for pick 44.

Mark Allen also said it was an "important" player at Collingwood, not sure that really applies to Jesse (even if he is playing well atm).

Varcoe?

Nope...

Quote:
Pacey Cat Travis Varcoe could be leaving Geelong, with his manager Tom Petroro telling AFL Trade Radio that he was only a "50-50" chance to stay. West Coast has shown interest in Varcoe, who remains contracted until the end of 2015.

Although he is an important player as he is the reason we secured Treloar, unfortunately we agreed to pay his contract to free up their cap. Well that's what I've read.

I think it could be Crisp, was he out of contract when we secured him?

I don't think Golds is the Biggest Reason we got Treloar

Good pick up. Didn't even think of him.

Probably the most likely as the cats were shopping him around the year before as well.

The fact he was contracted only to 2015 does not mean that the agreement to pay some of his salary cannot extend beyond the term of his existing contract with the cats at the time.

Sorry Dave, okay he was the reason we got Treloar over the line. Why else would we pay a bloke to sit in the VFL?

Congratulations Magpiebat, I didn't read your reply correctly. Sounds pretty good to me. He's turned out a very important player.

Pretty sure we were getting a significant amount of Woewodin's wages paid by Melbourne when that deal went through in '03.

Yes. We possibly would have been better paying them to keep him.

*After 03. (I still think he was very good in 2003, but we were playing very well as a team that year).
