I've not noticed any change in our structures. Playing on more or kicking backwards less are not structural changes - still did plenty of the latter in Q 2-3 against the Cats anyway.

Taking the game on and moving the ball more quickly has been something Bucks has been on about for a long time - all this season anyway. Mentioned it in most press conferences (most memorably after the Richmond game: "we want to move the ball like we did in the last few minutes") and it was a major focus during pre-season. I don't know how this could be considered as some new directive.

These are some really good comments from Scott and might help a little to explain why players like Blair and Sinclair become "coaches" (and players) favourites.

Scott Pendlebury wrote:
You get guys out of the TAC Cup that have been stars to that level and you saw it when I was there the good players go and do what you want and the others play a role. Basketball is never like that, you are all expected to play a role and two sides of the ball and that is what I found funny about football when I crossed over. There were certain guys that would do one side of it and the other guys would help them out.

"You have to run both ways to be a good player. It is not luck the ball lands in someone's arms – they have just run 150 metres to help out."
As a captain his frustration with teammates is not when they fluff a kick or handball – he cites there being 60 mistakes in an average game between both teams so mistakes are inevitable – but that when they do they do not work harder to atone for it.

"A skill error doesn't faze me. Nobody ever means to miss a kick or handball and there are ones out there and you think 'how can you not do that?' but what pisses me off more is when the player stops after that, they miss a kick and go into their shell and don't chase back defensively. The thing you can control in footy is your work rate. Not everyone is going to be Sam Mitchell-like, but you can work

Well I believe I've got a grasp on he concept of coaching.

Yeah, we've noticed.

The captain of the club has said, very clearly, that there's been no structural change.

Rather than accept that simple fact, and in order to keep the 'game plan doesn't work and Buckley is an idiot' narrative alive, we have to believe that Pendlebury is lying.

For some unfathomable reason, Pendlebury has decided to be part of a conspiracy to, well, I don't know, embarrass some posters on Nicks?

Maybe it's to protect Buckley, because a coach that changes a gameplan mid-season, with positive results, definitely wants to keep that dirty little deed totally secret.

The alternative is that he's simply telling the truth. An inconvenient truth for some, sure, but the truth none-the-less.

And the captain is never coached in how to handle the media.
How many spin doctors have we got at Collingwood?
Many!
And Balmy tells the truth with every injury report!
