On the contrary, I think he's saying they've relaxed the training regime in the 2 days after a game. This no doubt has helped recovery and the players aren't <snip> going into the next game.

A small swipe at Davorkian is my read.

I assumed JW asked were the players working harder on game day, and that I agree.

Has training work load increased? According to Howe its just a redistribution of work - less early in the week, more later in the week.

And yes, another example of the playing group taking control of their destiny.

Does that translate to I caught a carp by using a magpie as bait?

You can't play on unless you know, or believe, that there will be help to do so or someone to kick or handball to when you do. Otherwise you look like a fool. The difference has been there HAS been someone running to that space or running to help. That wasn't happening early on and why White looked so silly when he was doing it and getting caught in the twos under instruction because the twos hadn't started to click either. When everyone works both ways we have a different team representing us.

The fact that we are not getting scored against on a regular basis from a kick out would suggest we are structurally different to before. The fact that teams are now finding it much harder to escape their back half also suggests players are not merely guarding space.
Sure I agree the efforts from the players has increased, but I have no doubt some tweaks to our structures have been implemented over the last couple of weeks.

Spot on! Hard to believe the improvement is down to pure effort alone. Our increased effort is definitely a component of our improvement but I think we've seen a few small tweaks to the game plan.

Yeah, what would Pendles know!

No change to structure should be put into the same basket as the Club's injury news of the last few years.
It has Spin, Spin, Spin written all over it!
