I'm not sure who are currently in our leadership group supporting Pendles - I think it's Sidey, Adams, Caff and Brown - but given that Brown and Caff are running around in the VFL, I'd like their leadership positions to be transferred to Varcoe and Treloar (if he's not already in there). I know it's only a formality, but we desperately need more on field leadership and these two are natural and inspiring leaders.

Damn straight; if we are rebuilding, than the leadership team needs to reflects this....and to be fair, we as supporters need to acknowledge it as well.

But bear in mind, the vibe from the club was that this was anything but a rebuild year at the start of the season...I would suggest the make up of the leadership squad also reflects this expectation from the club

you don't need a title to be a leader.

Can Treloar play a season with us first before anointing him the new messiah?

Exactly. Varcoe and Treloar are no less leaders because they don't have titles.

Not really. Doesn't make you smarter, bigger, stronger, more influential, more intimidating, it's just a label.

You could say that about any position of authority JA, from school principal to leader of the country; is that your black flag showing? Wink

Might just give the young'un a bit more confidence in addressing an issue with an older, more experienced player, is what I was suggesting; might be a tad intimidating

Not sure if I'm familiar? Gaz Jnr? Was he given a bake by a younger team mate? Quite frankly it may have been deserved if Saturdays performance was anything to go by.

^ yeah. son of god. apparently copped it in one of those honesty sessions. to be fair you don't need to be a leader to speak up in one of those. i was stretching things a little for convenience.

Too true but some individuals have it, some don't and labels make them neither better or worse.

Changing mid stream means you'd inevitably get fall out and just another (unnecessary) management issue.

They can put Cloke in, if they like - just for his last 150 or so games with us.
