Have to be real worries about Ben Sinclair and his future now.

Copped another hit to the head at training today, so that's why he's not playing.

Seems AFL clubs are now paying closer attention to anyone with multiple concussions.

Both had very good games against the Pussies last weekend so it's not a complete shock. Do smell a late change though.

hate to say it- but geezus the cats have a strong team- so many big bodies.

Hopefully our boys just watch the 3rd quarter of the NAB challenge game- must take the game on to be any chance.

I'm tipping a pies upset (or upset pies Wink)

I have to admit, I have an ulterior motive. Bit of a man-crush on Frostie. I love it when an opposition tall leads out on his own and is about to take an uncontested mark. In the blink of an eye, just as the ball is about to fall into his hands, a black and white rocket steps into frame at 110km/h and, like magic, Frostie's big fist comes high over the top and smacks the pill 20 metres clear.

That happens about twice a quarter and I never get tired of it. Along with the Jamie Elliott high-fly speccie, the Ben Johnson running goal streaming down the wing, and the Pendlebury slow-motion dance through traffic, it's one of the great sights in football.

spot on. i rate frost very highly - the only 2 things that worry me are his ridiculously fumbly hands on the ground and his average kicking.

mind you to (draw another similarity to him), presti couldn't kick to save himself either for the first few years of his career...

I get concerned about his concentration lapses & at times gives his opponent too much room. Hopefully, he is working on that.

Bad luck for Ben. We could have done with him against Motlop. Hopefully he recovers well from his knocks (& knockers) to the head.

Reid can take him, this time he'll have 2 legs to stand on.

Comes down to the midfield and overall pressure controlling their supply to him.

And having someone ready to go 3rd man up in defence, can't allow too many one on ones.

Let's hope Dangerfield's legs spontaneously combust just before the first bounce, then, Stui.

Toovey to shut down Motlop in a blast from the past game and Reid to get revenge on cross eyed Tom and hold him goalless..
Pendles, Treloar, Adams, Sidie (birthday for 150) all killing it and Cox Howe Moore, Faz and That mid field mob all kicking multiples...
It all sounds so easy...
Make me coach...

Head knocks are a real danger.
You just cannot keep playing after multiple head knocks.
It is not just concussion.
Who wants to end up like Greg Williams.
What are too many head knocks... I don't know but I suspect not many.
Lot of research coming out of the USA is looking really bad.

Agree in part.

The US research is based (I believe ) on the NFL where players wear padding and helmets and routinely use their heads as battering rams in the mistaken belief that the helmet will protect them.

A helmet might prevent your skull being cracked but doesn't stop your brain bouncing odd the skull like a pinball after severe contact.

Still, if in doubt, better to be safe than sorry when you're dealing with potential long term effects.
