As I said last night.
Thought it was our best win in a year or so.
We tried to play a little fast footy for a change.
We set up the structures much better than last week.
Play the Pussies and Dogs next.
Whether we win or not is not the main issue for me.
It is the playing style that I will be looking at.

True, my first game for season next week, don't expect a win, but as long as we have a redhot go, and put that pansy Danger on his arse, that will do me. Razz

Yes a red hot go is what I want.
Is Danger the best player at the moment?
Will Levi go with him?

Only 2 wins left for 1500 wins, the first club to do so by a large margin.

Hoping for a muted celebration when it happens this year, similar to the 2011 NAB cup...

Yes Blair played well. But he generally does against crap unaccountable sides. I would like to see him step up against some good sides, starting with Geelong next week.

Caff seems to be struggling in the VFL, and I doubt he'll ever play another senior game. I like the kid and he's always given his all, but those 2 knee recos have taken their toll and he was never quick to begin with. Given the shut down job De Goey did on Beams last night, he might get the job, though I'd prefer it to be Greenwood.

De Goey on Danger and Levi on Selwood.
That might be interesting.

Structure much improved (judging from the Lounge room). Happy with a good win but with next to no structure from the opposition let's not get ahead. Will be a better week this one, hopefully doesn't come crashing down next week.

At our best we definitely have a chance against the Cats. More than most this is an even season and I think that's why we're seeing some good teams struggling to find wins. Bring the intensity and most teams can match anyone (see Saints v Hawks, even Bombers v Roos). Any team that is a bit off due to injuries, form, confidence, lack of intensity can be smashed. Turn one or two of those around and they can do the smashing as we did this week. We'd all like to see us performing more consistently, but with the teams we've been putting out there it's just not realistic.

But overall, I don't think we are badly placed at all. Our squad is young and strong and will show continued improvement. Sure, we've lost to some "bad" teams but I think many are exaggerating just how bad those teams are (go Dees), and we have not always fielded a strong side ourselves having used 36 players this year, more than any other team. There have been signs throughout the season that we are building, if we can just get a few more of our building blocks back we'll start to see more positive results.

Correct weight inky.

I'd just add, that besides our opening loss to the Swans, despite losing to a few middle of the table teams, we have actually been competitive in all those games, even against Carlton last week. A club is in crisis when it is getting smashed each week. Despite our horrendous injury list, Bucks has had us in winning positions virtually every game since the Swans drug saga debacle.

The reserves showed the same dash and dare yesterday, Aish was ok in all that. Same gameplan.

Unless Geelong trains on bourbon all week, they will beat Last night's Collingwood side by about 12 to 14 goals.

Beat: likely.
12-14 goals: unlikely.

We will need another tall defender to compete against the Cats. Fortunately it seems one or both of Brown and Reid will be available. The Eagles in Perth are better than the Cats and we competed with them for a half, it was no 14 goal hiding, bring that for closer to a full game and we can certainly challenge Geelong.

I used to be undecided, but now I'm not so sure.

We need Brown back in to take on Hawkins. Frost always has trouble with Hawkins strength. Cats are probably one of the tallest teams in the comp now. Need Reid as well.

The one we need back most of all is Reid imo.

I agree. hawkins hasn't been doing much but if we don't have someone who can at least compete physically with him he's likely to have a day out against us. We don't have anyone else on our list other than Brown who can play on the Gorilla FF's
