Free kick count today is pretty standard for eagles games over here in WA. |

And ain't it grand we've found ANOTHER turnover king in Smith??? 29 touches and just about turned them all over, not to mention his part in the comedy threesome.Levi Greenwood is woeful. indescribably bad. We're cooked and we need to get a full back quick smart. I'd like to know the free kick tally. I know we got shafted there as well. |
I think Keefe will be back next year so Brown will be under some pressure - but right now there are limited options
Overall I think Brown, Frost and Reid are good enough - our problems are more to do with a lack of mid pressure and lack of support for our backs more than individual players weaknesses. _________________ Love us or Hate us... we are Collingwood - you can't ignore the Mighty Magpies!!! |

Excellent bar 15 answered goals. There's an contradiction if ever I heard one. |
It was actually just meant as a joke to cheer people up a bit. Sorry if it didn't work for you. |

Try irony. I hear the Kenyans were burning lots of it recently
Then again that's irrelevant which is the correct answer. Damn the blowout, but just holding a game for three quarters matters. Next, hold it until halfway through the final quarter. _________________ In the end the rain comes down, washes clean the streets of a blue sky town.

Well it is all too depressing.
If you can't run and carry.
If you can't hit a target most times.
If you keep stopping and propping.
If you keep going backwards.
If you keep recruiting duds from other clubs.
If you keep a zone that gets sliced and diced.
If you keep letting the Opposition go coast to coast.
Then you are going to lose most times. _________________ we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest. |

Well that was pretty decent. After an inept first quarter, the second and third were excellent. To be able to fight back from what looked like annihilation was very pleasing. Grundy particularly stepped up against Nic.
Unfortunately we dropped away again late and the margin doesn't reflect the amount of good work we put in for half the game. That's one of the challenges under Bucks, when we get down we give up goals very quickly and that needs to change. _________________ Well done boys! |

I expected us to lose by 10 goals today so that prediction came true, but there were enough signs today to not be completely negative but seeing the first and last quarter would have been very disheartening for any passionate supporter of this club.
I was actually impressed by the way we evened things up in the second quarter and I thought our third quarter performance was our best quarter of the year, but to see us undo all that hard work in the final quarter and receive a 10-goal belting was very disappointing. The moment two of our players slipped over and Sinclair appeared to be concussed was a momentum killer and really the end for us today.
For a second gamer, Mason Cox continues to impress me. The guy plays with so much heart and passion that he seems to lift those around him despite being a late arrival to the game. Darcy Moore had his moments but our inability to hit targets was always going to make it hard for our forwards to kick goals easily. Crisp played his best game of the year which was promising after some calls for him to be dropped in previous weeks. Grundy was excellent in the second and third quarter against Nic Nat.
Disappointing performance by Nathan Brown who was completely outplayed against Josh Kennedy. We shouldn't be too harsh on Josh Smith as he's only played two games but his turnovers were costly at numerous times but at least his ability to find the ball is promising. Broomhead was very underwhelming and I'm starting to wonder whether he'll make the grade now as he's in his fourth year and he hasn't been able to break into the side for various reasons.
Our defensive structures were deplorable and our continual insistence to implement a zone defence that doesn't work and we cannot execute properly is very frustrating to watch.
At least their were some positives today but we have a lot of work to do to get up to scratch and be a finals team assuming that's what the club is still aiming for after six rounds. Nothing today convinces me that we're necessarily heading down the right path under this coaching group. _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

Just bewildered.
Fought back, a couple of dodgy decisions and some shockers from us and it killed it.
Just what can you say.
F&cking hate the Eagles. |
The Weasels are still front-running squibs. Whorethorn's bitches at the MCG.
Carlton will fancy themselves to roll us now.
Even minus Weitering who has damaged a shoulder.
And if they do - it's Bye Bye Buckley. _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |

Swan,Adams and Varcoe would more than likely assist the mid field part of the equation and we miss Ramsey more than some might think, but Brown and Frost are very large witches hats and I reckon Brown fell over just about every time the ball came near him, that is of course,if he wasn't giving a soda of a free kick away in front of goal. |

Boring, bland plodders - Josh Smith, thanks for having a crack, but another in a long, long, long line of Buckley plodders who just can't kick.
Capable of 1/2 an effort, but so far down the pecking order it's shameful
Not even capable of getting angry, just an awful club at the moment |
Me too, i just feel nothing watching this team. Even through the mini comeback I knew it would only provide false hope. So brittle under pressure, 3 guys slip over creating an eagles goal in the last qtr with the game in the balance and we throw in the towel. We allow a 3 goal contest (with the wind advantage) to cascade into a 10 goal flogging. No heart, no soul, no nothing. And it never changes. We start and end games so poorly, never give ourselves a chance. |
That's where we are at, we accept the Josh Smiths of this world, nice kid, has a dip, but guess what? Can't kick! Another one...the cycle continues. And why does everyone we bring in from another club fall into the land of the bland? Greenwood? 2nd in the Kangaroos B&F? Now a plodding tagger. Aish? Another plodder, can't hit a target. And what is the plan? "Draft picks - ? - 2018 Premiership!" - from where? We aren't within 5 years of GWS in development, St Kilda and Melbourne are coming...and we have no picks early next year. This is the group folks, we're stuck with...this.
The losses are just so inevitable, so predictable, you feel like doing something else with your time. There's no one to rally around, no one that stands out. Just a parade of plodders and good blokes.
I seriously don't know where this clubs next finals appearance is coming from, but it's not from this group and this strategy that's for sure. _________________ We just got nutted at the clearances... |
