Harsh, really harsh, was asked to play one on one against the most dangerous forward in the AFL.

Had no help, none, not once did someone get back and help him.

He was never our full-back when Brown was available before he decided it would be useful to miss two entire seasons of football. How likely is he to get the gig when/if he gets back?

Nathan Buckley failed abysmally today with his set ups:

* Brown: should never play on anybody with pace like Kennedy. Slow plonkers only like Lycett
* Frost: should only play on pacey players like Kennedy
* Tooveys only bunny in the AFL is Darling so what does Nathan Buckley do?? Puts him on LeCras and what happens?? B.O.G in first 3 quarters!!

Then we can sack him too

Now don't get too negative Mr Zero.
I suggest Joe the Goose, after all, he has had a good run on Nicks this week.

Heater never lets an opponent get between him and the goals - he was always the backstop with us too. Should never have let him go, instead we should have invested him with more responsibility - he would have thrived on being treated seriously for a change. Dunno who on the backline is the rep on our "leadership group", but he seems to have missed most of their meetings.

You must have a versatile backline!

Not sure about Brown, but i do think, at the next draft, we should concentrate on a couple of ready made backmen, to bolster the defence, or get what we can in the pre season draft, if any backmen come along.

I shudder when he gets the ball in his hands. Only has one kick. Up and under.
Frost is just as bad.

But they can spoil.

Had the toughest gig in AFL.
A fit Kennedy at home with Nic Nat dominating

Reality is he had only kicked 2 on him with 5 minutes to go.

Yes he got towelled up.
But not once did i see someone come and give him a chop out.
Why Reid wasn't tried there is beyond me.
I said it in game day thread - 5 mins into the 2nd quarter.

Reid was hardly smashing it at CHB and Brown would have been suited to Lycett surely.
Browny is down on confidence with his ball use clearly.

So why not give him a run at CHB for 10 mins ? Can someone explain ?

Anyway - don't worry if we we lost Browny it would take a quarter and a half to miss him.

Brown is a free agent at seasons end.

So he won't be traded. If anything he'd be free to sign on at another club if one wanted him.

But we have to look at all the factors:

*Age. He'll be 28 at round 1 next year.

*Form. In 2015, he played all but one game. So far in 2016, he's played every game. (This would be a nice change for him as he missed the entire 2011 season and all but 3 games in 2014). I think he was good for the majority of last season.

*Pace. Seems to have lost a bit of toe. This is a concern as he isn't getting any younger and past leg injuries might be catching up with him.

*Skills. Not the most equipped player in the league. He can spoil, he can mark. By foot, he's not great. But it shouldn't be his job to be kicking the ball out of defence. One on one, he still has it. If he lost that part of his game, it could be all over for him.

*Position. He is a fullback. I don't think he is a swingman type, so other than FB, I don't think he can play anywhere else. More importantly, who can play this position if we lose him?

Which brings us to this:

*Keeffe is returning in 2017. But who knows how his development has come along? He was looking good before the drug scandal, which btw was a bullshit decision to lose him for 2 seasons when the Bombers got 1.

*Reid could probably stay in the FB role, but his talents can be used in different areas of the ground. A great swingman. I hope he gets back to his AA form.

*Frost had a great start to his career. Is he an upgrade on Brown? Age wise yes. But what about in other areas? It also seems like the same people are wanting Frost to be sacked.

*White. Ghee Whizzikers, whats it come to when you're discussing White as a possible replacement? He has been good in the VFL, but he has had plenty of opportunities at AFL level and I don't think he could do a better job than Brown. Pace is the only thing he has over Brown. Come to think of it, has White even played at fullback?

Then theres players from outside the club.

The obvious choice would be Hurley as he is able to leave Essendon after the Wada drama. After this, I don't see any other available fullbacks who are in the age bracket.

Defenders always look bad when the losses are heavy. And its always easy to blame them when the ball is coming into the defensive 50 way more than it should be.

So I think its harsh to be asking for his delisting. The only way I see it happening is if we snag Hurley and go into '17 with Reid/Frost/Hurley/Keeffe as our tall defence.
