apparently "hamstring awareness" or similar is a new medical term. is this what varcoe currently has?

No, Varcoe has hamstring insight.

Let's just hope Davoren has hamstring judgement.

Having said that, it is terrible news for the young fella. Hope he makes a speedy recovery & goes onto have a good career in footy (except against us of course)

I thought the fact that Nathan freeman was traded by Collingwood and then had 46 touches in the VFL reserves proved beyond doubt that Nathan Buckley was a terrible coach who had lost the playing group........

^^I sense sarcasm, but this view does have some validity. Under Buckley we've lost far more players that we would have preferred to keep than under our previous coach, of which Freeman is an example. It's accelerated both our decline and our rebuild. How much of this is caused by a problem with player management, the introduction of free agency or unavoidable friction after the poorly judged handover is the question.

I'm still a bit salty when it comes to this kid but I don't wish injury on anyone. Hope he recovers quickly then is a total bust as a player for St Kilda before making a reasonable income as a VFL standout. Laughing

People have short memories. I recall many hamstring injuries, particularly to Buckley and Burns, under Malthouse. If there are more today, I suspect its because all players in all teams are doing far more gut running forward and back. Currently Varcoe is our sole player with a very slight hamstring injury, so we're tracking pretty well imo.

^^The injury stuff is silly. 1) because the numbers, other than one year, aren't any different to other teams and 2) it's almost impossible to correlate injuries to training or fitness staff failings from the outside. I understand the frustration but that's all it is, we don't have any evidence to provide real criticism.

My post above was about players leaving the club though, not injuries.
