Well said Lazza. Not sure how any of our current injuries could be attributed to the medical staff? It is a tough, contact sport after all. |

Agree .... Tas played injured last week and probably further aggravated it by playing out the game. Occurred during the match not on the training track. |

I think much of the "evidence" is sheer bloody frustration with our injuries. I fully get that but to start blaming Fitness and Medical Staff for injuries happening on the field (or anywhere else for that matter) is more than stupid. As we all know, shit happens in life and footy..... It is what it is. _________________ Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. We do have the longest injury list in the AFL but without being a part of the "high performance" team (our moniker for out fitness department) it's hard to know if the club is doing anything wrong or not.
Here's the injury list;
Quote: | Taylor Adams Knee TBC
Jamie Elliott Back 4-12 weeks
Corey Gault Concussion Test
Tyson Goldsack Fractured thumb 4 weeks
Tom Langdon Knee Test
Jackson Ramsay Knee Season
Matt Scharenberg * Knee Season
Ben Sinclair Concussion Test
Dane Swan * Broken leg/foot Season
Travis Varcoe Hamstring TBC
Marley Williams Mid-foot strain 2 weeks
Jarrod Witts Split webbing Test |
Of that only Varcoe has any recurring problem that could be attributed to bad management. And if anything we are managing him well, taking him off before it tore it fully last week for example.
In the past there may have been a need to question our fitness department, but can't see any reason to at the moment.
Yes we have a long injury list but most of them are plain and simple bad luck. |

No Dave, you just need to get a hobby or something?
Have a look at the list above and ask yourself what the fitness staff could have done to prevent any of those injuries? The reason it's so bad is because 9-10 of them are best 22 which hurts. Our depth is really being tested right now. |

They probably curse the injuries I guess, especially Buck's, but what can you do DTM? Play soft footy so that Nick's goes into meltdown? Train with cotton wool all over themselves? Wear kid gloves and go half arsed? You tell me DTM. _________________ Don't confuse your current path with your final destination. Sorry DTM, but i can't agree, Yes our injury list is long. But it has been worse in previous years. Is injuries an excuse for poor preformance? No, Hawthorn lose their Full forward for half a year and have had injuries.... but they have kept winning. West Coast made a grand final last year missing most of their best backline. it is the quality of your list that tells a tail...not who is or is not playing. _________________ "To know nothing of events before your birth, is to forever remain a child" - Cicero (Roman Lawyer/Senator) 46 BCE. |

We've had the longest injury list for the last 3 years, we're obviously doing something wrong. _________________ Defender...........

As bad as our injury list is, it's nowhere nearly as bad as the second half of 2014. And back then about a third of our team was finished for the year and we struggled to fill the 22. This year we have better depth which is now being tested. We'll struggle against WCE with Adams out, but we have ready replacements in Broomhead and Goodyear, who in my opinion are AFL ready (not sure about Phillips though). Only Ramsay is definitely finished for the year. Scharenberg, Swanny and Elliot are all progressing well and the other injured played are all short term only. |
