Post subject: Aish a Inside Midfielder | |
|
Just watching the Replay and after Aish missed the Set Shot.
Leigh Matthews said Aish best Postion is a Inside Midfielder who wins the Ball and gets it out
So Aish be better as a Inside Midfielder and not a Outside Midfielder? _________________ I am Da Man |

Oh poor Leigh, losing his mind in old age.
He's an outside midfielder at best, more like a flanker/wingman.
We won't see what he's truly capable of for a few years though. |

Reckon Leigh wasn't far off. He will be good inside when his body matures a bit.
Was good against Melbourne but disappointing yesterday. I'm confident he will come good again, and he remains one of the few good users in the team so I would persist with him. _________________ kill for collingwood!

another one we are going to need to be patient with. needs to add some bulk which i am sure will come with his development. _________________ Purveyor of sanctimonious twaddle. |

Aish should be more an outside receiver link up player but unfortunately as yet hasn't displayed an ability to find enough open space to ply his craft and win himself some easier possession.
Matthews comments are based on his belief that he may prove to be to one paced to play this role at AFL level so will need to become more inside focused to forge a career.
Hopefully he's dead wrong as we already have better options in that role and desperately need more outside run and classy delivery by foot.
I thought this is what we were meant to be getting with Aish. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

He's no slower or smaller than Sidebottom and to me is a similar type of player. Leigh has a habit of talking down players that leave Brisbane so I wouldn't pay much attention, didn't seem to know that Aish played a good game against Melbourne.
It's too early to say how good he'll be, players take time to find their feet at a new club and Aish is only 20 (only 4 months older than De Goey). His first season at Brisbane was good as a linkup type player, this seems his best role but he's still working up to form after a poor year at the Lions. _________________ Well done boys! |

Agree. Still Skinny and not really strong. You ser that in some of his Tackle Efforts and how Easily Broken.
Jusr turned 20 so still very young. So still few years away from making big impact _________________ I am Da Man |

Aish can play, yet to gel with his team mates and maybe yet to understand the game plan. Needs to head back to the VFL. Yesterday I thought he was trying too hard to rack up possessions rather than focus on the team game. He will get another crack and will be better from the experience. |

Yeah, kid is going to be good, no doubt in my mind.
He's got no issues putting his body on the line, just doesn't have the body to do it well yet. More bulk may not ever come but more strength will. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Give the kid some time. He missed most of last season and has yet to have a full preseason (first year out of draft he missed preseason until January by memory) needs to add some bulk to his frame but some can do it quickly some take time
He played SANFL @ 16 in a premiership side so he's no dud that's for sure
Patience with him give him confidence by keep playing him he will reward you 10 fold in years to come
Remember he has played 50 games yet |
