Interesting that they put Phillips onto the team list when they could have just selected from the list as is (or is here a requirement to name a replacement to the 25)?

Congratulations to Phillips for making the 25 in any case.

Not a lot of alternatives. Phillips, Wills or Sier all that's left in the midfielder stocks. Crocker if you were looking at a forward.

Losing Adams is a big loss. I actually thought he was close to BOG last week. I thought we were a real chance to beat the Eagles, but it's going to be much more difficult now.

it just means someone else neds to step up.

looks like more of a defensive mindset with the three defenders named on the bench.

Crisp might play better now it's only him in Greenwood. But Adams is a huge out.

Our centre-line of Broomhead, Treloar and Sidebottom is awfully small looking.

Happy about Broomhead inclusion. Not happy about Aish being dropped.

Adams out makes it harder.

In perspective, we played well on Monday in the 1st half, but Essendon were a very poor team.

We haven't beaten the Eagles over there since 2009.

I was there - first and only time to Subi.
Loaded up on the Pies which paid for the trip - in over time.

Lost my voice for a week.
We were 1 dodgy Mooney free kick off being premiers.

another bites the dust.

two massive outs so far this week due to injury.

we need the experience of our inexperienced side out there to see where
we are at in this early part of the season. this is the tedious trend at collingwood.

That was 2007.

FMD, can't take a trick with injuries.

only our third outing at subi against this mob since 2012. last two games were losses by 60 points (2014) and 49 points (2012).

i think the big diffrence is that West Coast wont allow us to do whatever we please for half a game. We saw in the second when Essendon gave a far more determined effort we were slowed in general play. Eagles will win (if they rock up with the right mindset). but i agree with others, we cant allow another Sydney style 80 point blow out. Will be happy with a close contest aslong as the team give a strong effort.

Defenders & pace. Two of the three inclusions have pace.

Losing Varcoe & Adams would have made us slow.
