In all the doom and gloom that was the match. I was very impressed with the game Maynard played. Preformed a very nice tackle in the last quarter. I find it odd that he seems to be the first player that some on here talk of losing his place out of the team each week. For my mind he deserves his spot of the rest of the year on current form.

Anyone who played in defence for us yesterday on a day when the opposition rabble kicked 15 goals against us probably deserves to be gifted a game every match for the rest of the season, irrespective of performance. I see that. Initially, I was dubious - but I now see that it's the only way forward.

Turns the ball over a hell of a lot.

Gave a stupid 50m penalty away resulting in a clear goal.

Wasn't made to earn his spot in the Seniors.

Any wonder the natives have grown restless on him?

Has the odd brain fart, maybe needs to tone it down a little and decision making is horrible at times but he's as hard as they come and will be an enforcer. His kicking is a weapon too, it will only get better.

No question he is far from perfect, but no one from the VFL is banging the door down. And hey if we are going into another mini rebuild we might as well be getting games into the youngsters.

I really like his physical presence and for that I'm prepared to forgive the odd skill mishap.

This is the main issue at Pieland.
We have dozens of newbies coming through.
And each shows some potential.
But we have no A graders coming through.
Last one off the rank was Beams....
Maybe Moore is looking to be on the right track.

Since your "Why isn't Tim Broomhead in the seniors?" campaign had such spectacular outcomes once your wish was granted, I'd have thought you'd be granting guys who actually can touch the ball in the seniors a bit more slack?

Stick Broomy in our defence he will get plenty of touches, to my eye that's pretty much the reason Maynard touches it, broomhead might also have a nano second of rational thought before fight or flight kicks in and he gives it the old hot potato shuffle.

I'll give bux a call....

I wouldn't be adverse to swinging Maynard in the guts though where his bullish type straight lining of the ball and slaming it on the boot might have some value.

Ha ha brilliant. I have been caught with my hand in the cookie jar. FWIW id still play Broomhead and Aish for the rest of the year. It has annoyed me that Maynard appears to be gifted games and I get the obvious contradiction in that statement but Aish was a pick 7 and Broomy a pick 19

He's tough, hard and doesn't mind a scrap and I like that about him.
