It's not excuses. I'm sure everyone is disappointed in the performance in the VFL today & our ones in the season.
However, there are some reasons to explain a fair bit about the VFL performance today. Those reasons (not excuses) include but are not limited to:
1. A hell of a long injury list by us, not the case for Essendon
2. A lot of mature bodies by them through AFL listed players (see Jamar in the ruck that got them first use out of the centre vs almost no rucks by us)
3. At one time we had Wyatt at CHB ( a basket ball project player / ruck / fwd ffs)
Of course this doesn't hide disappointment & frustration when good VFL players aren't doing as well this year as they did last year such as Moloney & the captain Hellier.
However, the loss needs to viewed through that set of facts (which doesn't make it any less frustrating to say the least) |
Yeah, Carey at his peak would have had a hard time out there today the way the midfield was being slaughtered. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

I still say it was the wrong week to drop him.
The VFL got smashed, so he couldn't get his confidence back anyway.
And tomorrow he would have been able to get in the game more, and maybe get that confidence back.
Today achieved nothing, it's arguable that we can even select him for next week based on today's performance.
All a mess. |

I hope we aren't making excuses for blokes like McCaffer, who evidently can't find their own ball in a VFL game? _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |

Could there be a trigger clause in Clokes contract for the fifth year?
It could be we are playing him into retirement and have a spare 800k for next year. |

Great. $800K free in the cap to recruit more plodders who can't spread or break the lines. _________________ M I L L A N E 4 2 forever |

Just had a look at the VFL stats from today.
Cloke had the worst Dream Team rating out of all the Collingwood / Essendon players combined (21 points).
2 goals.

He wasn't the best but the rest of the VFL side was rancid. _________________ we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest. |

I can only hope he does a Richo.
Remember he went rancid for a while, before almost snagging the Brownlow in one of his final seasons.
Although, I don't seem to recall Richo ever being dropped to the VFL. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

Watt no wonder you have a hangover ... Every time cfc plays but yes I do get your points and I reckon most are valid however how can we explain or adjust for bad (BAD) footy.
Injuries yes
List depletion yes
Other side being better yes
But to lose in such manner ... Without much contest reminds me of losers ...
As a competitive players where is the fire and spark .
I get that winning and losing is part of the game but how u go about it is the factor that's makes the most difference. _________________ 2 b or not 2 b |

Now it makes it hard for Bucks to recall Trav. It was a <snip, offensive term, try to articulate your disagreement in other ways, thanks - bbmods> move to begin with, but Bucks seems to excel at those. |

So Trav went backwards from his previous games in the AFL… how could he play into form when the ball is up the other end? Just stupid that he was dropped - we are giving Cox a much tougher assignment then he should have had and as rightly suggested by others what right doe Cloke have to be recalled now?
Cloke is a great extra - we need to play him the way the Hawks have used Roughy… never rely on one guy it makes the team far too predictable. The best teams have multiple goal kickers as we did back in 2010 and 2011. During that time CLoke was at his best because you could not double team Cloke when others were contributing… _________________ Love us or Hate us... we are Collingwood - you can't ignore the Mighty Magpies!!! |

Can't be recalled on those numbers, maybe we can drop him further to Craigieburn so all the boys can play together again. |
