Close my eyes and I'll kick you
A poor drop and I'll miss you
If only I could only kick through
In the team I would stay
If my shots wouldn't stray
And I'd kick 2 goals 0, not 0 goals 2

I'll pretend that I'm kicking
The goals that I'm missing
And hope that my dreams will come true
And on Saturday
In the VFL I won't play
And I'll try to keep my end up for you

Inspired by Carringbush Cigars efforts last week!
Hard to go past the best.

May have to work on some stones. The best I can do at short notice would be their "C@cksucker Blues". No explanation necessary.

One more:

Cameron Wood (Norweigan Wood)

We once had a bloke, played in the ruck, not under Bucks,
Although he would try, he wasn’t that good, Cameron Wood.

Chances he had but he couldn’t get a game for weeks.
Instead he rode his bike around with his mates called the Beaks.

He played in the twos, biding his time, walking the line.
Then he got the axe, and got the shits, Grundy and Witts.

He wanted to stay and didn’t want to go anywhere.
But Mick gave him a gig at the Blues and so he went to play over there.

And now, he gets to play, not under Mick, he was a prick.
Although he gets a game, he isn’t that good, Cameron Wood.

Stones now (Angie)

Eddie, Eddie, when will you make Buckley disappear?
Eddie, Eddie, where will you lead us from here?
With no flag in our club, all our money in those pubs
You can tell we're not satisfied
But Eddie, Eddie, you can't say we're not on the slide
Eddie, it's indisputable, ain't it time he said good-bye?
Eddie, He'll still love you, you'll just have to swallow your pride

All the dreams you held so close, your succession plan up in smoke
Just whisper in Bucks' ear.
Eddie, Eddie, will we bottom out this year?

"Hotel California"

In a dark MCG hallway, stench of defeat in my hair,
Warm smell of Bucks bullshit, rising up through the air
Up ahead in the distance, I saw a shimmering light
It was Stewart Dew and his ample frame
Asking if I was alright
There Ed stood in the doorway;
I heard the siren sound
And I was thinking to myself,
"This could be Heaven or this could be Hell"
Then he lit up a durrie, and he started to pray
There were voices down the corridor,
I thought I heard them say...

Welcome to the Basement of the ladder
Such a lonely place (Such a lonely place)
our coach is a disgrace
Plenty of room at the basement of the ladder
Any time of year (Any time of year)
You can find us here

Bucks mind is bitter and twisted, he got the Mercedes bends
He got a lot of assistant ex team mates, that he calls friends
How they butchered our game plan, absolutely inept,
won't be playing in September, not this year or next

So I called up the Captain,
"why are you in the backline"
He said, "We haven't had a decent defender here since - Leon wouldn't re-sign"
And still those voices are calling from far away,
Wake you up in the middle of the night
Just to hear them say...

Welcome to the basement of the ladder
Such a lonely place (Such a lonely place)
Our coach is a disgrace
They livin' it up in the basement of the ladder
What a nice surprise (what a nice surprise)
Bring your alibis

Mirrors on the ceiling,
Snorting Coke and smoking ice
And he said "We are all just prisoners here, of our own device"
And in the "perceptive fellow" chambers,
They gathered for the feast
They stab it with their steely knives,
But they just can't kill the beast

Last thing I remember, I was
Running for the door
I had to find the passage back
To the place I was before
"Relax, " said the Lollipop man,
"We are programmed to be sheep.
You can sack Bucks any time you like,
But he can never leave!

we need a like button for some of these. That's a good one.

Agreed - Bob has a fine talent for putting misery into verse! Good effort - I hope something of a similar quality could emerge when we are back winning games again…

Not possible my good friend, the best songs are about misery-heart break-loss in general, shiny happy people songs aren't gonna cut the mustard round here, least not ATM.

I did however start a thread on Nicks prior to our 2010 triumph, was labeled "movie lines edited to suit Collingwood" or something like that, may have been 2011, who the **** knows, point is I'm not a negative Nellie.

Well back to the entertaining part of the season.
Wish I could poke fun of other clubs instead.

Bon Jovi - Livin on a Prayer

Five years they've been coached under Bucks
Players seem on strike
They don't give a f$ck..
We suck, oh we suck.

Eddie spins the bullshit all day
Protecting his man,
For Bucks he'd turn gay
For Bucks, for Bucks

Ed says, "We've gotta hold on to who we've got.
It doesn't make a difference if we make finals or not.
I made him coach, if he can coach or not.
For Bucks, just give it a shot."

[Chorus:]
Whoa, we're no way there
Whoa, haven't got a prayer
The wooden spoon, we'll take it - I swear
Whoa, haven't got a prayer

Micky left the club in a huff
Leading Teams are in
They make the players talk
Enough, it's enough

Clokey dreams of seniors one day
When he cries in the night
Daddy whispers,
"Travis it's okay, someday...

Ed says, "We've gotta hold on to who we've got.
It doesn't make a difference if we make finals or not.
I made him coach, if he can coach or not
For Bucks, just give it a shot."

Whoa, we're no way there
Whoa, haven't got a prayer
The wooden spoon, we'll take it - I swear
Whoa, haven't got a prayer

Didick, you're a legend. My kid needs to convert a song lyrics to one for Mother's Day. You up for the challenge?

Yesterday all our troubles seemed so far away.
Could it be that Bucks is here to stay.
Or will he hang on to Anzac Day

Suddenly our boys are winning easily
Steele, Cox, Pendlebury
Oh, yesterday played brilliantly

Will Bucks have to go, I don't know, Ed wouldn't say.
This weekend things could go wrong, and we'll long for yesterday.

Yesterday the Bombers were such an easy team to play.
We can't we play them every day
Oh, I'll remember Anzac Day

Hehe love this one!
