Actually if we believe quotes like that about what was said to the StKilda players after the game, we should also believe what Robbo said about up to 11 Collingwood players testing positive to illicit substances. There are good journalists around, just not Michael Gleeson or Robbo. The best footy journalists are ex-footballers. Talking footy last night had a lot of analysis on the plights of Collingwood, Richmond and Freemantle and both Tim Watson and Wayne Carey are much more highly perceptive on what the problems are. |
I neither quoted Gleeson's analysis of Collingwood's problems (laid out at length elsewhere in the article) nor endorsed any of it. I simply communicated in substance (albeit it ironically, of course) that I don't like reading those sorts of articles. Why? Well, because it indicates that our club is in (to be put it politely) some very difficult waters, at present. |
The worst thing about the supposed quote, if that is what was said, is that it demeans Richo as a coach for putting down any opposition team that way. He actually said that it was St Kilda's best win in three seasons. He can't have it both ways and I'm sure that's not what he said in the rooms and how can Michael Gleeson know anyway what was said in the room? Very poor article by a journalist I put in the same boat as Robbo. |

This really is a terrible take, if you don't see where Treloar is better than Beams you're just not watching closely enough. For one, you keep mentioning "one paced" while Treloar has definite acceleration. Sure you haven't been watching old tapes of Beams by mistake? _________________ Well done boys! |

Time for the likes of Treloar to get off media telling us about the colour of his superstitious pair of jocks each game and get some better heat going forward when the heat is on. Too much man love amongst each other and not enough bravery at the contest and more telliingy, when you have the ball, to take the game on and trust the man you are sending it forward to. The start of the season has lost me for the first time since NB took over. Vrarcoe Sidey and at least three others in this week and throw everything on the line. Another effort like that and the season is s
hot. _________________ woodsmen rule |

Treloar was Heavily Tagged and you see that with only 5 Kicks |
That is a great point Dave.
We gave up 2 likely top 10 draft picks for him.
He will be heavily tagged at Collingwood
Will he be a champion or a good ordinary player?
This is the million dollar question. _________________ we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest. |

Yes Dave
But will he be a champion given that he will be heavily tagged from now on? _________________ we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest. |

You neglect to say that Treloar had about 25 hand passes. Treloar isn't the problem. |
Of Course he is not. I just said he was Tagged and that is why we did not see the Run and Carry we did in 1st 2 Games.
Treloar actually been 1 of very few Postives in 1st 3 Games _________________ I am Da Man |

Beams is a shotgun, Treloar is an AK47. Both have their pluses and minuses. In the end they are both guns, albeit different types. If Treloar gets to Beams level we will be mighty satisfied. If he exceeds that we will be over the moon. At this stage however we won't see the best of Treloar until we get back our best version of Pendles methinks. Sidey and Varcoe will help though. _________________ Get back on top. |

Do we over-rate our recruits before we see them produce elite football in Collingwood colours, or what? |
