Yeah here's the article;

http://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/travis-cloke-warned-by-afl-after-using-illegal-glove-in-return-to-form-against-gws-giants/news-story/25f1f9950a6361176a38b3e5e975762c

So funny, we got the win and Clokey killed them, so now they sook.

Wonder if he was using the same glove all season, even when he was being bagged for poor form. Was he actually wearing a glove earlier in the season? If he was I bet there were no questions about whether it was approved or not.

Article's wrong he was wearing different gloves in the Carlton and GWS games. The AFL site says he hasn't worn a glove for about a year.

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-07-12/cloke-and-dagger-pies-glove-not-afl-approved

vs Carlton

vs GWS

The glove he wore vs GWS looks like a Nike Superbad...

The Superbad is indeed on the banned list.

Which is ironic, because "Superbad" is exactly what Clokey was on the weekend...

There are too many silly rules in footy. He gets pinged for breaching AFL rules on gloves ?

What next ?

Are AFL level footy players allowed to have piercings or is that banned ,too ?

Look out ,ladies and gents ,we are going to get the 4 points taken off us and a heavy fine. Imagine the flames coming out of Eddie`s ears if that happened !!!

From what i gather , it`s the brand. Has to be Nike or another AFL approved brand.

He got told not to wear the Superbad before.. not sure why he didn't at least disguise it with paint or something

I thought he was "one Grabbing" his marks far too easily! It is rare for him to stick so many like that in one game. Will be interesting to see what he wears and how it affects his marking this week.

Interesting point on the banning of the gloves though. If they are banned or being too sticky and allowing the player to mark easier, why don't the AFL ban boots with extra long stops?? On soft or wet grounds long stops allow players to get better grip on the ground and therefore run better, stop better and maintain their footing when changing direction?

As long as the same gloves are available to all players to purchase and use, like long stops, there shouldn't be a problem.

wearing one 'sticky' glove could be affecting his ball drop significantly causing kicking accuracy woes...

My advice...Drop the gloves totally Travis!

Now watch him clunk 10 marks and kick a bag of 5 goals... I will forward my bank details for expert consulting after the successful game against the Crows! Smile

The glove is designed to be sticky as detailed below so it is fair enough that they are banned. If there weren't rules of this nature I would put Travis in a Teflon jumper and give him a sticky glove.

The old Magnigrip was the culprit.
No wonder he stuck 12 marks in wet conditions.

Careless of him to have used this product
