Seriously, the guy has been shite for 18 months. Gets dropped twice. Has to protect his ego so he might as well crack the shites at the coach... Of course it's the coaches fault he can't get a kick.

He's a head case.

But let's blame Buckley.

Sorry - please remind us what the actual job of the senior coach is ?

To win games, which he funnily did on most occasions when Cloke was in the VFL?

What's the job of a key forward? And how do you think Cloke is and had been going in that regard for over 1 year?

BOG in the wet against the top team was sensational. He was everywhere, tackled his guts out, threw his body in and he continually moved the ball into dangerous spots with chips, deft handballs and kicks. His long goal on the run was the icing on the cake. It wasn't Eddie Betts kicking 5 or Gary Ablett Jnr but kept in context it was a fantastic game.

Pendlebury jnr was BOG. The game was won in defence, denying the opposition goals. It was a low scoring slug-fest. The team with the strongest defence won. Credit were it is due.

The big fella was in everything and threw his body in and was a tackling machine. He couldn't have done much better in these conditions. However, as I said above, he has to squeeze another tall out of the seniors to get a recall. I suspect he'll have to string 3 or 4 good VFL games together before he's recalled. But all credit to him for his efforts today.

Was a day of limited opportunities. But he took a contested mark on the run just in side 50 and slotted a goal from a 45 degree angle. Spent most of the day in the mud with others. Appeared a bit slow getting to the ball at times, but he demonstrably was keener for the fight than has been seen for a long time.

If you were at the game you might have a different perspective to what the TV coverage showed. Aish did many tough things that were highlighted on the TV that might not have been seen from one fixed vantage point at the game. Ditto Cloke. Pendlebury did some nice things but not many games are actually won by a half back intercept marking, as solid as he was.

Stats don't do justice to the influence he had on the game.

Being aggressive is the key for him. In last week's game he absolutely squibbed one contest which could have been enough to drop him.

He needs to run and lead, hits packs hard and smack into others in getting his marks.

Great to see he had 8 tackles - when he tackles well he really hurts the other player

He couldn't have tried any harder, yesterday. He was like a battering ram.

I thought he did a good job yesterday, apart from a brain fade handball towards the end of the game he couldn't have done much better in the conditions. Most of his 8 tackles were really felt by the opponent. There are also a lot of stats that don't show how much he influenced many passages of play.

Also, Aish was magnificent. I thought the style of game played and conditions would not have suited but the kid stepped up. Hopefully a turning point.

Perhaps this was the VFL game he really needed, to show guts, flair, and aggro, and he has delivered, he will be picked next week, and hopefully this can turn his, and the teams, season around.
