Quote:
Collingwood ruckman Brodie Grundy says teammate Travis Cloke deserves to hold his spot in the Magpies' side for Saturday night's clash with Carlton.

Cloke was praised by coach Nathan Buckley after he "played his role" with two goals in difficult conditions in last Friday's win over Fremantle.

But the struggling spearhead is still in danger of being dropped for the third time this season with fellow tall Darcy Moore likely to return from a broken collarbone.

"I love playing with Trav. I think he's got a real energy and a real presence," Grundy said on Tuesday.

"Does he deserve to stay in? I think so ... he's been playing some really good footy.

"Even when he was playing VFL, he was really tipping in.

"He loves his teammates and he's said that he wants to stay at this football club ... I'd love to be a teammate of his for years to come."

Of these 6 games - both teams have won 2 games and lost 4.

Cloke is 29 years old - Petrie is 33 years old.

One coach is supportive and full of encouragement.

One is respectful.

One can coach.

One is a Legend of the club.

One is a premiership player.

and one needs to be dropped and I one'der who that will be!!!

One is trying to get a premiership this year, out of a squad with quite a few aging stars.

One is looking to the future.

Only one is likely to ever play in a final again...

It's a pity we didn't get Tom Boyd on a million-a-year, 10-year deal when the opportunity presented itself.

In the words of the goanna Packer.
There is only one Alan Bond!
So I reckon there was only one club stupid enough to do that.

Maybe I'm on my own here but I reckon Cloke deserves another game after his efforts against Freo. I would be astounded if he didn't get selected this week.

I'd be astounded if Cloke got a senior game ahead of either Cox, Moore or White.

So, just how astounded are you feeling?

He was good today, contributed well to the win, but let's not get carried away.
Hardly played on Glen Jakovich, and dominated junk time to be fresh in everyone's minds.

By the way, I'm not trying to bag him, I actually gave him a vote in the GB medal.

Awesome game today, upped his trade value nicely, i'm not deliberately trying to sound heartless, but if we're going to have a red hot crack at a flag in 2 years we can't have an inconsistant fwd like Trav.

Fantastic performance.

His best performance since the mid-year period of last year where he played outstanding games against Melbourne and GWS before our season fell apart.

Yep, next year we'll get Keefy back so Reid can fwd, where he belongs.

Laughing

See how the team goes with Darcy Moore getting the no1 defender, can't get a kick as the 3rd forward, no hope as no1 Laughing Laughing Laughing

Cox will take full advantage then.
