I'm looking at it from a player POV, their season should end on the final siren on GF Day, not a week later.
Play an extra 10mins & get it over with there & then!
Why wait an whole week for a result when one can be achieved on the day?

Scrap it!

And it looks like the majority agree with me on the poll.

Wasn't around for the 48 replay between Melbourne and Essendon. Melbourne won the replay, but let's not forget that (King) Dick Reynolds took his bombers to 5 consecutive GFs for only a couple of wins.
77 was the first GF broadcast live on TV in Melb. Coincidentally the corresponding NSWRL GF was also a draw. That was their first ever. They had a replay too. I was actually building an FC Holden on the Sat of the replay and didn't see much.
2010 GF was the game we tried so hard to lose. I remember watching it in Mooloolaba with a Pies supporter and a Saints supporter thinking "I hate tight finals". We were lucky with the bounce of the hall, in the same way that we were unlucky in 1966
A lot of close GFs are decided by the bounce of the ball (2010, 1966), a mark or free kick (2002, 2005) or umpire's call (1989, 2002).

I like the replay-especially when you win the following week! It's not so good when you lose the next week,however..And besides it's only happened three times in the history of the game,so it's not something that really needs to be changed. The A.F.L's jumping at shadows again,as it usually does.

I reckon its a certainty the GF replay will be scrapped. AFL are worried about the logistics if it happened with 2 interstate teams, it would be an absolute nightmare to organize.

Damien Barrett mentioned the AFL made about $10m from the 2010 replay.

For a supporter, drawn GFs are emotionally and physically draining, I can only imagine what it'd be like for the players. Would rather it decided on the day than have to wait another week, I've found that torturous!

I just can't imagine they would scrap replay GF's... just too much money involved to not do it, and the TV ratings... well yeah even more $$$
