first of all what a fantastic win this arvo. congrats for steele on his 150th which he really set us up with quality possession in the first 1/4.
besides the massive turn around of form i just want to seek some knowledge about some memorabilia that was auctioned at a venue tonight that i happened to bid for but lost. it was a framed/sealed item that contained, with authenticity cert, the medals of afl and collingwood promotion which included the copeland, r.t rush, brownlow, premiership, norm smith, and maybe something else. sorry cannot recall the sixth piece.
in the heat of the bidding i had some concerns about the authenticity of it all. and my main concern was if they were authentic do they need to be original, donated from pass players for this to be worth anything?
with this stalling on my behalf i consequently lost the bid by a measly $50.
these things probably are up for bidding all over the country but i wouldn't mind knowing if i lost out big time or was it worth losing the bid. _________________ no second chances |

Hard too say, I once attended and auction on a cruise ship, and they had a framed and signed, by all the players, of the invincibles, the 1948 aussie cricket team, it was going for a few thousand. BUT, when I inspected it, I had to point out that the teams captain, the great Bradman, had NOT signed the photo, and the auctioneer was very embarrassed, was gob smacked actually. ^Nice.
Interesting that all the medals are the current form, except for the Coleman, which has the old VFL design. Although no Pie has won it since BT in 86 was it? _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

Well, if you were going to pay > $250 for it, you had a lucky escape. In fact, assuming they are not genuine, you probably had a lucky escape at anything over about $25, which is what they'd cost to produce and ship from Taipei.... _________________ Two more flags before I die! |
