I remember the kicks very well, I imagine anyone with an eye for the game would have...this kid is special alright, and flying under the radar has done him no harm at all

I think Josh and Nick might be close to the 2 best kicks in the league.

I called out to my friends when he used his left peg on the wing at how amazing the kicks were.

He’s on the ‘wrong’ wing for a right footer, but his left leg is so good it matters not.

No surprises as to why that’d be the case

Post subject: Three standout wingman demanding AA selection in 2023Reply with quote

Since Champion Data started recording time in position in 2005, only two wingmen (Dale Thomas 2011 + Andrew Gaff 2015/1Cool have been rewarded with All-Australian selection. Why Nic Martin, Josh Daicos & Errol Gulden all have serious cases in 2023.

While it's a shame it's not our home game, Josh will play his 100th game against Essendon in our final H&A round. That's another 100 game bloodline locked in to the CFC.

From an OK junior prospect who didn't attract a father-son bid at the 2016 NAB AFL Draft until pick No.57, to a developing youngster that managed just 17 games in his first three seasons, he revealed how he almost quit the game in 2019 as he was struggling to get a game in the senior team.
He was set to become a restricted free agent at the end of next season but has extended his contract by five years until the end of 2030.
Now under a new coach and also having his brother Nick at the club changed his career around, Jaicos is a key cog in this Magpies machine.
His kicking off either side has moved to Sidebottom elite level, and with that his game day impact is perhaps one of the most uheralded on our team, seeing him well on track to pick up his first AA gong for his stellar season to date off the wing.

Go well young man.

Ahead of his 100th AFL game, enjoy some of Josh Daicos' best work at AFL level :

He seems to be getting better with each game. Big effort to reach 100. I reckon he could kill it in the finals

Congratulations Josh. One of the first picked every week no doubt. A mainstay of our side. Show us some Daicos magic tonight!

I wrote this last night but it seemed to be removed - no idea why.

We have three AA players. One, Moore, played a great game last Thursday. Another, Nick, was out injured and his return could be the factor that pushes us over the top in two weeks.

The third, Josh Daicos, is a star but he seemed to me to play one of his worst games last Thursday. 14 disposals, 50 AF points, several clangers. Was anyone at the game with any insight as to why ? Was he tagged ? Did he seem under a cloud, overawed, or was it just a bad night ? Or was it not as poor as it seemed to me ?

If he can produce a more customary performance in the coming weeks, that too will push us up a level.

Rare off night with 4 possessions in the first half. Better in the second half but upside for Preliminary Final.

Had a quiet night, didn’t have a tag as far as I could see. Last year was very good against Geelong but quieter in the other 2 games. I’m sure he will bounce back and hopefully JDG takes the game apart. We will need them both to lift, though Nick will be back it will be his first game in 6 weeks so I wouldn’t expect him to tear it apart first up.

Nick did a heap of stuff AFTER his last training session - if he is a little off the pace it won't be because of lack of preparation.

The ultimate professional alongside Pendles.
