^ yeah but if you stay out of the workforce for too long you start to erode your employability unless you’ve got some super specialist skills. It’s a trade off really. Good luck with it.

Close to home would be good as would less stress.

The part time gig would pay the bills and be a good transition. I'll have a think about it.

Word of truth, another thing to consider.

Out of interest do most people purchase authentic printer ink made by brand of printer you own (bloody expensive) or go for the aftermarket option?

If you do the latter where is the best place you've found to order from?

Cheaper to buy a new printer than genuine ink cartridges. Laughing

Is your main dilemma working as opposed to not, or choosing between the part-time and temp jobs? (Or are both equally vexing questions?)

I buy genuine bulk packs from Officeworks. I’ve done the cheapies, and the refills, not worth the fuckups when they come! But I print an awful lot of stuff, mainly grey scale, but if I’m printing in colour, I tend to go hi res! I just bought a new printer. Picked up a small compact one just before Christmas, realised it was too, well crappy for my needs, and took it back to Officeworks and they just swapped it, and the packets of ink I bought for it, over! The majority of my printing is for business purposes so I claim it anyway.

In Thailand is is easy to get continuos ink printers. Basically a canon eg retrofitted with ink containers. You buy the bottles for very little and you don't have to throw out a cartridge that is 3/4 full because a certain colour is missing. A pain to move because of potential spillage but for what you get worth it. An average a4 colour pixma here costs around 60.00 dollars fully loaded and a 500 ml bottle of ink about 5 dollars Lasts years unless used all the time. No cartridges. Obvious why the manufacturers do not readily provide this option. Surprised it isn't more prevalent but then the suppliers of consumables don't want them either.

Australian consumers are getting ripped off. The ACCC are again asleep at the wheel

New only in Australia. They work well and you don't have that problem of banging the cartridges to get the thing working.

Too true! I went to Officeworks last week to buy ink (Woolies had run out of the cheap knock offs) and it was $127 for a pack. They had printers there for $30.

Where has David disappeared to?

He hasn't posted since the 21st of last month.

Has he finally watched one to many art house movies and his brain has decided nup that's enough for me I'm out this bitch and he's lying comatose in a hospital bed somewhere?
